- ^ Agreed regarding crowded bars with stools obstructing the ability to get drinks.

- Interesting comparisons from the AAU dude on Rafters. Like the Donyel Marshall call:

My comparisons for the class you're putting together would be

Bam--Joey Dorsey with more talent. Dorsey was one of Cal's favorites at Memphis and brought toughness, warrior mentality. Bam is more skilled then some talk about--but he's a warrior on glass and best rebounder Cal has recruited to UK.

Gabriel--Think Donyell Marshall type. (know some fans are young--but Marshall was a long versatile forward from UConn who could do it all at college level).

SKJ-- Harry Giles lite. Similar approach to game but less dominant.. Skilled but needs to get tougher.

Fox-- Nick Van Exel scoring with John Wall athleticism.

Monk-- If Bradley Beal had Russell Westbrook's athleticism. (so imo you would basically have a version of Wizards backcourt with Fox/Monk being Wall/Beal but with better shooting from Fox then Wall and Monk being superior athlete to Beal)

Last year's Chicago trip was one of the best weekends I've enjoyed in recent memory. Just a few days before Christmas. Tons of energy in the city. Music. Lights.

Got up there on Friday afternoon. Met my bro in law at his Happy Hour spot in The Loop. Had dinner at Malnati's on Friday then partied with the crew at The Peninsula Bar afterwards.

That place as was a scene being it was the team hotel. Tons of basketball personalities in the mix. Came in hot and started crushing some old fashioneds. Next thing I know Mags and I are arguing passionately about the 2003 team.

Had court-side seats at the game. Frosties were flowing. Allie LaForce was posted up right next to us. It borderline made me feel uncomfortable how ridiculous that broad looks up close and in person. Of course that game was nothing but surreal. Felt like we were watching a team in a total zone. Everything was clicking. The basket seemed as big as Lake Michigan.

Dinner Saturday night at Benny's. Some fat, white dude was playing the piano & crooning Sinatra. Then we rolled to the bar in the Trump Tower for a night cap.

Almost felt like dream when I woke up fat & sassy on Sunday morning.

...memes, with the most interesting man in the worlds likeness in the background?

those ceased to be amusing about 15 minutes after the first parody came out.

That reminds me of the first weekend I ever met you fellers.

What were you AND BBdK doing for work on a Sunday night in Nashville exactly?
I thought they were just in town to visit me. But why would they be in town on a Sunday night? I do like that we were all getting drunk at Tootsies that night though.

ABC and I were roommates for seven years (KY, Venice, NYC) and share the same birth date. He's like a brother to me.

May not be that far away. It's not live video yet but WWE has content for the Samsung version of the Oculus.

Technically it won't take nearly that long. But gaining enough adoption plus working out rights and all that will delay actual implementation for major sports by a few years. We've been able to stream live events for years, but we just had the first live streamed NFL game a month ago.

I know there's always been a generational divide over which program was the greatest threat to our supremacy in college basketball and most older fans almost always name North Carolina as that program while younger fans will cite Duke. I've always been in the North Carolina is the bigger threat camp, but after last season I think I'm ready to switch sides in this argument.

In my lifetime Duke [5 championships (3 in the past 15 years), 12 Final Fours] has been more successful than UNC [4 championships (only 2 in the past 20 years), 10 Final Fours] and even more successful than Kentucky [3 championships (only 1 in the past 15 years), 9 Final Fours]. They're also coached by the guy who will go down as the greatest college basketball coach of all time.

We need to start notching wins against Duke. Tonight would be a great start. We also need another title before Duke wins it again. This year would be a great start. If Duke wins another one to go to six titles, all in the modern era, then the narrative will definitely be that they're unquestionably the best program of the modern era and maybe the greatest program of all time.

I definitely get that take, especially considering Duke stole 2 titles UK should have had in the last 5 years.

Pisses me off to no end that since Gregg Doyel wrote the article about Cal wreaking havoc on college basketball at UK, touching Duke and UConn have 4 of the 6 titles - ALL of which UK could have won (and should have won at least two of the four), and the one year UK was awful, GD Louisville wins the title on terrible officiating (also whores).

I won't think the 'sky is falling' if we don't win tonight- far from it, but if they win it all again this year or next before we hang another championship banner, then yeah, it will be pretty hard to argue against their dominance. You can already see the storyline shifting to K beating Cal at his own game after last year.

I agree with your Duke take a couple posts above. K winning it all this year would have me very worried considering how good they should be next year. I don't think they quite have the team this year but it would be nice to win it ourselves and at the very least avoid a UNC or Duke title. Two is too close for comfort in titles, we need it at 3 minumum for me. Cal came in with a 2 title lead and he needs to at least keep it at 3 where it is now.

Briscoe already looks pissed off. Guy is either going to be out of control or dominate the game.
