UKO proves my point UNC fans = Westboro Baptist Church = ISIS.
Seriously, that is EXACTLY the dumbasses I'm talking about.

PICTURE OF BEARDED TERRORIST next to PICTURE OF NON BEARDED OLIVE SKINNED GUY

CAN YOU TELL THE DIFFERENCE. HE WAS FOUND CHANTING "ALLAHU AKBAR" IN A NURSING HOME!! USED A FAKE PASSPORT TO GET INTO FRANCE!

You can have compassion, fear, sympathy, understanding and still be objective. There's a middle ground between Pelosi and Limbaugh.

Jared sentenced to 15.6 years in prison...unreal.

Good. Glad he wasn't able to use his celebrity and fortune to leverage a weaker sentence. Those are the very things he used to his advantage to rape kids. I'm sure his stay in prison will be very pleasant. Child rapists are universally beloved by the criminal element.

Seems pretty light. He's a sicko. Granted for that guy it's probably a death sentence or he will wish it was. Probably going to be pretty brutal in there.

The alternative with his plea agreement was five years IIRC. I think this was pretty much the max available to the charges he plead to. I haven't followed it all the closely though, so I could be mistaken.

Yeah, again I'm no legal basketball. 15 years for child porn and underage hookers. Not a lot of notable cases to run that one up against. Just feels like he deserves A LOT but like you said, probably going to feel like 150 with the way he'll be received.

Plus he'll die broke. Every asset and bank account he has will be used to settle civil suits with the victims. His only marketable skill is 'celebrity pitchman'. Good luck with that.

Do any of you or anyone you know care way too much about the stupid 3-pointer streak UK has had going since 1987? [laughing] Of course, I want us to hit a three every game, but my buddy actually gets nervous about it.

I put the Rudy soundtrack slightly ahead of the Hoosiers theme this time of year but it's basically even.

Both immediately place me in a damp backyard or a chilly driveway playing pickup football/hoops as a boy. That was just the best.

I guess you want records but to me it's a silly one. I do not care about that one at all.

I kinda want to see us win a game by 30 solely on dunks and FTs. I don't know why the streak mentioned every broadcast annoys me, but it does.

By unreal I meant a dude who built a net worth of $15MILLION by eating submarine sandwiches....then ruined it all by soliciting underage girls.

Even that dork could have his choice of women with his situation. Just amazing. His wife was gorgeous.

...I actually thought it seemed heavy. Not for the crime, but compared to what you see in the news, paper, etc. I mean, all those 'To Catch a Predator' creepers Chris Hansen didn't get anywhere near that, right? I thought Jared never admitted to actually having sex with them? Granted, I never dug deep into Jared's details as I don't care to read about that kinda stuff, maybe he did much worse/more?

That seemed like a pretty quick turnaround from charges to sentencing. Regardless, as light as a sentence as that may be for a deplorable subhuman, ****** sandwich pushing pederast, he will probably do all of us a favor and end up killing himself. But, I hope it's from suffocating on a cawk that just came out of his filthy ***.

"Fogle's lawyers submitted legal docs making their case for the minimum sentence -- 5 years in prison -- in part because his molestation victims were 16 and 17, close to legal age.

Fogle's lawyer had an expert testify Fogle had a compulsive eating disorder and when he lost weight he replaced that compulsion with hypersexuality.

There were 12 victims of child porn and 2 victims of child prostitution."

Whenever your best arguments are "those kids were almost 18!" and "he used to be fat or something so now he's a child molester!", you're an idiot.

I mean what in the world.

My friend's wife is so annoying about "the streak" that if it ever gets late in the game and we haven't hit one yet, I root against it.

He also brings her along on the SECT trip every year now, too.

She is a legit fan and a member of the HOF at wcc's alma mater, but you don't bring wives on guy's trips… am I right? You're damn right I am.

Also… WS is different because Anth wasn't part of a guy's trip for 10 years before she decided to change the rules.

The fact he did enough to get charged federally, and had actual sex with minors, is what hammered him.

Child porn possession/trafficking on the state level in KY is actually a D felony- same level as stealing over $500 worth of Xboxes and Star Wars Battlefront.

Great call on GOES.

Totally disagree. Seems like hardly anywhere has TSA Pre-check, you have to carry the card with you everywhere, and it really saves you almost zero time or convenience. And the TSA pre-check agents are really snooty and rude, had one spit at me the last time I was in an airport. I also find the $750 charge for it to be egregious as well- PLUS the annual fee.

Yep, no reason for ANYONE to get Global entry. Worst decision I ever made.

-Pretty bad *** that all 6 of our 2016 dudes signed early. [smoke]

That's what makes it all the more ridiculous. Haven't had this since that '11 class when MKG, Teague, Davis and Wiltjer were all locked in early.

I'm trying to figure out who I'm most boned up about. Bam's a lesser Dwight Howard. Fox is a Wall/Knight hybrid. Gabriel has risen from 100ish to Top 10 in 3 months. BUT...

I think I'm throbbing the hardest for Monk. Dude may be the most electric guard we've had since Rex. You just don't find many freaky athletes AND deadeye shooters anymore.

Old man I'm friends with (80+ years old, Pineville native, season ticket holder) through business had a great point this morning. Getting them all signed now probably gives Cal a little breathing room for the season as traveling and recruiting is concerned. More time at home atkot. Good for him.

I also really like that's where my man's head is. Finally getting some ******** R&R. I can't wait to retire.

Anth..no offense, but your analogy w/ other nationalities is off base at this time. Not saying it hasn’t applied in the past, and could very likely happen again in the future, but now….not even close. Sure, there will always be a fanatical Timothy McVeigh out there, but now it is one group that takes priority and we all should be watching over our shoulders.

How are you going to judge these people? Seriously? How many more Boston and Paris episodes need to happen? I have awesome neighbors who are from Pakistan but I can’t help be suspicious when they have their “parties” a couple of times a month. It’s called human nature given the events of the past and present. This has ZERO to do with helping others, and everything to do with protecting our country.

I am not going to clog up beloved GYERO and get Chad in a tizzy, but if we all aren’t paying attention, then our fault. We can’t afford not to at this point. I leave for Vegas Saturday morning and I can’t say I am not a tad uncomfortable about flying. We shouldn’t have to live our lives in fear, but when you have people who strap on a belt and are willing to take themselves out along with hundreds of others, then it isn’t quite that easy.

Who was the worst Syrian Muslim terrorist in your opinion? Timothy McVeigh? Eric Rudolph? Ted Bundy? Charles Manson? Jim Jones? Lee Harvey Oswald? James Earl Ray? Ted Kaczynski? Joseph Wesbecker? Members of the KKK?

Much more likely to have a "fanatical Timothy McVeigh" out there than a foreign terrorist. We should ensure our safety by deporting white, male, Christians. We can start with you.

Good stuff from 247.

Later, in a piece for ESPN, Ford cited more NBA front office personnel who heaped more praise on UK's backcourt duo:

Murray: "He's so good," one GM said. "Every time I see him, I think he's special. And every time I see him, he just gets better. He was a little up-and-down tonight, but when he was good, man, was he good."

Ulis: "Usually I'd say no," one longtime NBA scout told me. "I've been watching the draft for over 20 years. The little guys just don't make it. But if I were to bet on one who could, it would be this kid. He really has everything you want in a guard. I'm not saying he's a top pick. He won't be a star. But I think he's going to get drafted and make a roster and have a long future in the league."

Regarding Fogle, without making it too complicated, here's what happened:

The statutory minimum sentence was 5 years, so there was no way he could get less than 60 months.

Given the nature of his convictions, the statutory maximum sentence was 30 years, so he couldn't get more than 360 months.

Now, his recommended sentence based on the Sentencing Guidelines was 135-168 months. That's 13 years and 3 months to 14 years. But the Guidelines aren't mandatory, so federal judges can impose sentences that fall outside the range if they justify the deviation on the record.

Based on his background, that's exactly what the judge decided to do. In the end, she applied an upward departure and sentenced Fogle to 188 months, which was 20 months higher than the Guidelines suggested.

So, yeah, he got hit pretty hard. I've had people convicted of similar offenses who ended up with much longer sentences, though, so he can't complain too much. I think CoolCat is right, though; he didn't get any kind of benefit because he was rich. They hammered him just like they do every other cho-mo.

Last thing--The reason the case progressed so quickly is because Fogle and his attorneys worked out an agreement with the government to plead guilty by way of an information before anyone even knew that charges were a possibility. As a result, he actually entered a guilty plea during his first court appearance. That doesn't happen in the typical case where prosecutors secure an indictment, arraign the defendant, provide discovery, and prepare for trial. All of that was off the table here, most likely in exchange for the government agreeing to allow him to remain out on bond until sentencing.

^See that other GYERO LAW-YERS that's how you deliver a cliffsnotes version to us dummies. THANK YOU. Good for Fogel, POS.

-I got Fox. No question. Love the other dudes but that was my #1 from the beginning. STUD.

-A Boyd was in f*cking Tin Roof Saturday and during timeouts he'd turn on his stupid playlist. Like his routes he was lazy and late turning the music off and getting the sound back on. Even caught a few boos.

[laughing] Love this kid as well. He's going to be one of those unsuspecting BBN legends, like Jorts.
