Losing 40-0 and #9 to Wisconsin is the worst thing that has ever or will ever happen in my sports universe and it's not remotely close. A piece of me as a sports fan died that night to a level that it can't be compared to any other sporting event. Certainly not to a bunch of dumb dicks deservedly and predictably crapping their pants for the fifth straight year.

I had just assumed we'd all be on the same page here.

2010 hurt worse. JMO. We were still chasing a long overdue title. 2015 is close though. But 2012 is still somewhat fresh. And tbh, Duke was as good as we were last year. 2010 though...[sick].

Yep. Every word. Worst choke/loss ever. Definitely killed a part of my fandom and really made me question Cal. Not if he should be the coach or anything like that - but his inability to get it done in the FF. He's been to 6 now, and won 1. He gets a pass for the one at UMass of course. But he choked against KU at Memphis, crapped the bed against UConn twice, and now the Wisky loss when we had easily the best team in the country. Hell, he tried to blow it in 2012 with that stall ball crap, but he had a wizard, a warrior and a stone cold killer on that team.

The man is an amazing coach, and deserves a ton of praise for getting to 4 FF in 6 years. But damn, he sure puckers up once he gets there.

Both sucked. I was miserable after the WVU game, but last year was way worse. Just like with the 'big crowds' games, you are biased since you were at the WVU game. I was at both, and last year was infinitely worse.

And no, Duke was not as good as us.

I angrily stormed out of my best friend's house as my wife followed apologizing in 2010. Titles are everything, but 40-0 would have been immortal. No one's ever gonna do it now. The title of greatest team ever and last ever undefeated team would've been ours forever. Instead it belongs to f***ing Indiana. It likely always will. I think as time passes, we're going to realize more and more, just what was lost last year. If we're being honest, it's the reason this season has been such an uneven roller coaster. No one really knows how to feel about anything. We're still hungover.

40-0 might be more valuable than catching UCLA, which is our white whale, but an inevitability if we're being honest.

Not for me.

10' sucked but that team was flawed, I was never convinced that a title was inevitable. Plus, after the sting it was still nice to be relevant and cool again...better things to come.

15' was a chance at history, Cal's "drop the mic". After that, whatever else he was to achieve here would be gravy. And quite frankly, it hurts that team won't get the recognition for being as great as it was because they didn't win a title. The only silver lining is that Cal may have not been as motivated after a 40-0 run, he may have moved on...the ultimate optimist might even say that that loss was a good thing for the long term health of our program.

I agree that 2010 was a flawed team but they were still the best team. And way above #2. I didn't see much separation between us Duke and Wisconsin last season, especially Duke. And Wisconsin was just a horrible matchup. 40-0 just sort of happened not that we were an overwhelming force.

The Wisconsin loss was more painful than March 28, 1992. Just not sure how any sane person could compare it to a Bengals first round playoff loss.

How dense are some of you? What's not to get? Maybe Willy's Bengal fandom is right there with his UK fandom. It was a horrible loss to a rival in the Playoffs.

"I don't get pro sports fans"- WTF? I'll explain- you know how you feel about Kentucky? You know how you've been a fan your whole life and never miss a game? Well, guess what- many are also like that with the Bengals.

What's not to get is that living and dying with Kentucky basketball makes sense because Kentucky basketball is really good. There are ups and downs, but Kentucky basketball makes me happy more than it makes me sad. I'm not trying to twist the knife. I like the Bengals. I was rooting for them last night. The Bengals have had some good times. But I can't imagine living and dying with a team like the Bengals. I know better than to do that to myself. That's as nicely as I can say it.

K, well to the uninitiated it was a freaking Wild Card game. This great pain you're enduring (historically bad franchise loses to 6 time Super Bowl champion, woe!) will have to be shared exclusively with other northern Kentuckians. Sorry.

Just got back from watching The Revenant. Barf.

Two parts cinematography circle-jerk, one part cliched native American dream sequence. I felt like I was trapped in a Bob Ross painting for 3 hours. I love Leo, but this aint his Oscar. What a pretentious piece of crap film. Shoulda gone to Hateful 8.

Let me try to explain this to you people. I love the Bengals. I could see Riverfront Stadium from the house I grew up in.

They were soooo bad for so many years. I'm talking 2, 3 and 4 win seasons out of 16 every single year.

Then Marvin Lewis comes in and elevates them first to a respectable .500 team, then to a perennial playoff team. But they can't get over the hump.

They have unbelievable bad luck. Carson Palmer hitting a 60-yd bomb then getting taken out on the same play. Last year, all of their offensive weapons were hurt and couldn't play in the playoffs. AJ Green, Marvin Jones, Gio Bernard, Tyler Eifert, etc.

This year, they were fantastic. They lost a game to the AFC South champs on a late TD. They lost a road game to the best team in the NFC on an OT FG. They lost a road game to the #1 seed in the AFC on an OT FG. And they lost to their mortal enemy when Dalton got hurt on the first drive of the game. They won their other 12 games.

If they could find a way to beat the Steelers in the first rd, there was a good chance Dalton would be back vs the suddenly reeling Patriots. They found a way to come back & take the lead with under 2:00 to go - and got a turnover. The game was won.

A fumble, some assholery by the Bengals that was punished by the refs, some assholery by the Steelers that was not punished by the refs and the rest is history.

There are a ton of unrestricted free agents on the Bengals. This may have been their last, best chance for a while.

When UK lost to Wisky last year, it hurt real bad. Like I said earlier, even worse than this Bengals loss.

But I knew they would be back competing for the title again immediately. I don't care about 40-0 as much as I do about winning the title.

UK basketball will pretty much always be in the conversation.

The Bengals' chances come few and far between.

I know. I mean how weird is it that people who grew up and have been lifelong fans of a homeotown team for over 40 years, had season tickets and have stuck by their team thru thick and thin get upset when their team loses?? Crazy ****.

Im a Reds, Bengals and UK fan. And I can honestly say that I would be equally excited if the Reds won a world series or the Bengals won a super bowl as I would if Kentucky won a national title.

However, I do get your point to an extent because you all get upset over UK football, who has never and will never contend on any level other than Vandys level. I generally use UK football as comedic relief when I watch, and knowing the result before the game starts 90% of the time, dont make it appointment viewing for me.

If UK football were to ever win the SEC east and play in the SEC championship game for 5 straight years and lose in the last 15 seconds of the sec title game to a huge rival, then you may understand. But considering that will never happen in either of our lifetimes or our childrens lifetimes, you wont get it.

The Nets are a disaster, I'm sure he talked to whoever has called why wouldn't you, but if he turned down the Cavs and *Lebron no way he's going back to the Nets. They have an idiot owner and are touched on draft picks.

2 things going against him. Any team that is set up to win isn't giving up that control because it almost never works and the teams that are willing = Nets... maybe the Kings(even that sounds shaky).

Meh. Another week another rumor. He damn sure ain't leaving mid-season.

I would say its kinda like you having a great job and have no plans to leave it but everyone has a number that would pique their interest. Its not like he is sitting down and having a formal negotiation.

-Regardless of fan hood, losing a 1st rd playoff game(again) w/out your QB who's been injured for weeks, is not akin to what happened last year.If you think it is, ur a idiot. It sucks for you guys, it was brutal, it was expected. Last year we had a chance to be immortal.

-David Bowie died? Damn, always felt like that guy was stuck on 45 years old.

-Pressure cooker experiment 1 last night. So-so. Mostly figuring out how to use it correctly. Seems like a great tool for week night cooks.

-Overnight sleep for 2 days straight? I'm like a new dude.

-At least this cold weather isn't accompanied by 18 inches of snow and ice. Also looks to wam up over the weekend before being cold again. Manageable.

-Spieth. Kid is just a damn machine.

My favorite part about bengal fans:

AHHHH F ANDY WE NEVER WIN WITH ANDY!

*backup QB leads them to victory but defense throws the game away*

AHHHH BUT IF WE HAD ANDY!!!!

I'm all in on AJ. Andy is a loser puss-boi, and that's evident by his lack of tattoos.

And remember you getting this pissy next fall when you blast UK football fans for this exact behavior.

If we're still hearing Bengals Fan whining and crying weeks from now, then I'll say the same thing. As it is, we're not even 48 hours from the collapse that everyone in the sports world is still talking about.

Personally, I'm a bigger UKFB fan than Bengals. I love both, but would choose success for UK over the Bengals. With that said, I get why UKFB sucks. No tradition. Toughest conference. Geographical issues. Etc. The NFL is a different animal. It's designed for complete parity. The Bengals have the exact same chance to be good the Steelers/Patriots/etc have.

Anyway, I'm not hurt like I am with UK basketball. I'm more pissed off. Same as I was when the Reds blew their playoffs.

David Bowie is the ****. Crazy that he just released his latest album on Friday.

-How much of a boon is this (and other) big Powerball Jackpots to your small retailers? I know they get a commission of ticket sales & prizes won, anyone know how that breaks down?

-If you have other teams you like as equally as UK that's fine, just know you're an inferior fan as far as this place is concerned. I mean, if you live & die with the touching Bengals equal to UK Basketball that says a lot about you as a UK Fan, and it's not good.

I bet they don't get much from those things but the real business is from the other stuff they buy while at the store.

Dont stores get a reward or bonus for winners they sell?

If he leaves he leaves. it was UK basketball before he got here & it will be whenever he is gone. But I don't think it will be to the touching Nets, and not this year before he can coach next years superstuds. Still, love him flopping his cack on the table that his starting place in negotiations with anyone is $120M guaranteed.

touch every one of the summer-is-boring takes & those who had them, cold weather sucks, ice sucks, january sucks
