I'll likely never have another team. UK BBall/Football, STL when in contention (for fun) b/c I grew up with it, but it's not an emotional type deal for sure. Plus, it's baseball.

Always wondered what it's like if/when you move to another city? Take Lewis, he's ALL IN on Chicago Sports......but Ursch doesn't seem to give a flip about NOLA teams.

Been in NYC for 15 years now, and don't consider myself a fan of any of their teams. In some years I've taken a passing interest in a team but it usually more about a player or something. Simply do not give a **** about baseball since it's the most boring sport in the world. Liked the Tiki Barber Giants, but have hated them since Manning got there. Rooted against them in both Superbowls, but that was before I cam to despise the cheating-*** Patriots.

Knicks are the team I was probably most likely to jump on, but they have been pretty much **** and completely unlikable (Carmelo, Thomas, etc) since I've been here. I did like the Jeremy Lin "era", but mainly cause it proved what a bunch of racists Asians are.

I do like the Rangers, but I barely pay attention to hockey.

Officials let that thing get outta hand with several judgment calls that ratcheted things up to another level...
Eifert gets hit in the chest (defenders helmet then slides up and makes contact with this head) - no penalty
Wheaton gets hit high on the chest (and bottom of face mask) - 15 yards
Shazier crowns Bernard - no penalty and then Pittsburgh gets the fumble. Announcers were 100% wrong on this one and Shazier will get fined.
Burfict kills Brown. Good call.
Porter isn't penalized for going over and practically getting into the Cincy huddle... Jones reacts and gets penalized.

Individually, the Shazier call was the only egregious one. Combined... It all set the tone for things to get outta hand.

Spoken like a UofL fan. Your team got beat straight up and got murked in the last two minutes because they acted like idiots.

Bandwagon fan. Right. Should have got out my map and picked the closest geographic team as a child. Fake fan. :joy:

Bengals are pure trash. Top to bottom. So glad I didn't fall into that closest geographic team stupidity. :raised_hands:

WhoDey?!! SteelersDey! Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

Yes, Bengal Fan is trash.

Old girl's family was from Toronto, Ohio, just under an hour from Pittsburgh. That place is hardcore Steelers. Very "regional" around those parts. Scary tbh. Definitely not like Louisville Steelers fan.

I was wearing Steelers gear before most of you guys were born. I try to be a respectful fan and not get into it too much on here because simply it's not worth it.

When you are a kid you go for the winner. When I was 5,I went with the Steelers because of all the great players and had no ties to Ohio or anyone in the family who liked the Bengals at all.

As a teen, the Bengals had a pretty decent run in the 80's while the Steelers didn't win a Super Bowl and the Bengals went to two SB's. While we were down and the Bengals were up that would have been a great time to switch to the closer team. But I endured some bad years and spent 26 years waiting on another ring.

The bandwagon argument applies to some but not all and is rather weak if you don't know the circumstances of their fandom. Jdrum, Kel, chief and myself have something in common and its we are in our 40's and we picked a winner as a kid I assume. And as I said at an impressionable time in our lives we had every chance to switch in the 80's but stayed true to our team.

The Steelers were my first ever sports love and remained the top until moving from Louisville to Lex and getting into UK basketball and football. I just don't get the bandwagon thing when kids love winners and if you get in early and never leave them.

a) F you.

b) If anything that should've been a 47-yarder with off-setting penalties.

c) Get the hell out of here.

Does not change the fact that the Bengals lost because two knuckleheads couldn't control themselves. Glad you were able to watch the game and take a break from the Bachelor. Guess you conveniently forgot that the Steelers still had 19 seconds left to gain a few more yards to make the kick more probable. No timeouts but they could have run some sideline patterns and kicked a 40 yarder with little problem.

Enjoy another year of anguish.

What's GYERO's go-to source for King Cake?

Had one years ago made by a Louisiana native, but I've not had anything close since.

I think it's cute IB4UK thinks anyone is in anguish over the Bengals in comparison to if they would be over UK basketball. It's a pro sports team that has done crap like this for decades. Bengals fan here that shook my head went to bed and didn't lose a wink. The NFL sucks anways.

The annoyance with every "I'm just a kid who picked a winner" plea is that we all know the type of kids whom pick a winner outside of their geographical area (esp. rivals).

They are contrarian little ***** first and foremost - not mere bandwagon fans. As adults, we all have to bite our tongue around them (little cousins, family friends' kids, etc.) lest we lambaste their parents for not raising them right or call out the kid outright for being a little dork/loser without his head on straight. You are adults, so make your case however you want. But we all know where it started and have you clocked.

Essentially, you are all UKO's. For the NFL.

Speaking of Bengals and NFL fan. At least it wasn't @abh. Classy stuff. At least 6 fights, one pisser, throwing stuff at injured players. We sure this is isolated to just 2 rogue players or a UL type rotten to the core of the organization?

Things got messy on the field between the Bengals and Steelers, but they got even more messed up in the stands. All together, there were six assault-related arrests made during the game. This one may have been the most messed up though.

Martin Cooke, 33, of Germantown, Kentucky, was arrested after police said he urinated on the person in front of him in Paul Brown Stadium. Cooke, who wore a Bengals hoodie, is accused of fighting with the man and punching him in the face, court documents state. He is facing disorderly conduct and assault charges. Cooke is scheduled to appear in court Monday.

Speaking for myself, you can take a look back at that FB fan map and see that WKY is Steelers territory. Is that because everyone there is a bandwagon contrarian? Doubtful. Probably because when the Steelers were dominant in the 70's, they were on TV every week in that area. Which they were because there was no local AFC team.

WKY should be Titans fans. The fact that there are still some Steelers strongholds proves that they are bandwagon fans who stuck with a winner rather than support a team within "season ticket holder" distance.

Why should you switch your allegiances just because a team relocates near you? Makes zero sense.

Last time I checked Cincinnati is closer to Western Kentucky then Pittsburgh and The Bengals existed in the 70s.
Wow!!! You're right. I wonder why all those stupid people in WKY aren't Bengals fans. And more importantly, Louisville fans. Since it's closer as you know.

FTR, I don't recall seeing a Bengals regular season game on tv until my first year at UK.

I don't know.

Why don't you ask Ravens, Rams, Seahawks, Buccaneers, Colts, Cardinals, Jags, Panthers, Raiders, Ravens, and Titans what the point of following a new local team could possibly be?

It probably has something to do with being an actual fan of the sport to the point that you would like to experience the comraderie of a regional fanbase and not just be a boisterous outsider with no connection to a team other than convenient TV viewing schedule from 40 years ago.

I started liking the Packers in the 90's, pretty much for Brett Favre. I still like them. Having Randall Cobb is a huge bonus.

When I was in elementary school my favorite pro teams were the Diamondbacks, Hornets, and Bucaneers because I thought their jerseys were cool.

Point being, liking a team, with no local ties, because you liked them when you were a kid is dumb.
