The SECT in Nashville sounds like a circle of hell, tbh.

You say this every year....fact is, it's pretty much the perfect setup & an an absolute blast. I can see not wanting to go EVERY year, kinda, but not avoiding it altogether or constantly hating on it.

Then again, you pretty much ruined the only SECT you ever attended.

SEC in Nashville is phenomenal. That's a ridiculous take. TS. I guess I get it if someone skipped this year. All reasonable points, plus Maxx is dead on with hangover year. I'd say we're 99% in barring an unforeseen issue.

Stepping out of that hotel the first time and speed walking to meet the crew on Broadway = Christmas Eve as an 8 year old.

Watched episodes 1-4 of Making a Murderer ystdy. Fascinating yet I don't want to get into all of the details bc I'm sure some on here haven't started it yet and there's so many angles.

One thing I will touch on.. Good grief. That area and I suppose Wisconsin in general breeds some ugly *** looking people. The Averys have to be inbred, right? There seems to be some missing chromosomes. Everyone up there looks like evolution stopped a long time ago and very homely as if they never get out of the house. Even the way people dressed in the mid 2000's up there looked like something in the late 80's.

People can say what they want about Kentucky & the South but that entire area seems like The Twighlight Zone on
LSD.

Richie, that is the main reason you dont see Marquette's Pi Phi chapter making soft core recruitment videos like the SEC/PAC-12 chapters.

Impressed with those who've held off this long, despite the national phenomenon. Show is unlike anything I've ever seen in that regard...

...it's still getting play/discussion pretty much all day on every News Outlet.

Wonder how the creators get paid? I'd say they've "outperformed" their expectations with Netflix or whatever just a bit. The pub alone has to be worth something.

Nashville is a blast, but I can see some peoples reservation. It is typically packed like a sardine can. Tickets are outrageous, and so are rooms. You really could go on a nice beach vacation for what the trip can cost (why I opted for Dominican instead of nyc)

Looks like a miss for me this year. Will be odd but exciting to be able to watch all the different tournaments for the first time in 25+ years.

at what point do the beans admit defeat and inevitably go ahead and cancel their multiple hotel bookings, first class flights, limo transportation, dinner reservations, monosyllabic bar vip access party tickets, and luxury suite passes to houston?

Joella's Hot Chicken is opening next Tuesday in the old Billy's BBQ building. Hopefully it doesn't turn out like Popeye's because I'd like to check it out without waiting in line for an hour.

Best beach set up for watching games?

Walk inside to Casina or Sportsbar for UK, Laptop/Ipad for others.

-I cancelled St. Louis, but keeping Houston just in case...but even if we make it, it's probably doubtful. That's a lot of money for a less-than-desirable location, for this team, imo.

KFC has Nashville hot chicken now, I guess? No word on if it's pickled.
I mean, I HOPE those are pickles...

Man, they got that done in a hurry. Wait will be stupid, for sure, because that's how Lexington rolls because it's secretly a pretty hilljack town.

24 hour cancellation on rooms and just a few hours on SW. Hell, they still went in 2010 to Indy. I think 2011 and 14 taught us to wait it out.

True, but Dad is *finally* going to Europe for 12 days (London, Amsterdam/Bruges, Paris) exactly 30 days from the Final 4, so that may be a bit ambitious regardless if our team pulls a Harrison. :sunglasses:

-Surprisingly, most onllne reviews deem KFC's version pretty decent...still gonna wait until after I try our local Joella's, Royals, and Joe & Larry's versions.

1. Nashville is a 50 minute drive from my house.
2. The busiest part of my year will have just ended.
3. Ol' buddy lives in a "trendy" downtown apartment 1 block away from Broadway.
4. Wife loves the town which means I get to go . . . as long as she tags along.

The SECT can be played in Nashville for eternity for all I care. The only drawback is that Nashville is also only a 50 minute drive for a lot of my co-workers, former students, current students, former players, and current players.

- Six Feet Under is such a great show, really underrated when people discuss some of the all time greats. Kind of reminds me of Bloodline, although even darker. One of the best finales ever too.

- Ex is an Auburn fan, haven't talked to her in a month...of course got a message after the game. ****.

- The Panthers slurping down here has become unbearable. Have 60 year old women at work "dabbing"...

- Up for a huge promotion in March, my last one was down to me and another candidate, really thought I had it...nope. Confident about this one though.

Promotions within education pretty much suck, Tommy. My advice would be to lay low, find some ow key administrative job until youre vested, then quit and do something that pays better.

I'm in a low key administrative job right now, while still teaching...This new one is a mid-level admin job and I won't have to teach a class to supplement my income.

let's get something straight here. once you drop chicken (or just about anything else) in a deep fryer, you lose all hope for food pretentiousness and critique. it's all basically the same, and all basically awesome.

joellas, kfc, winn dixie, popeyes, zaxbys, willa maes, whatever.

Man, I just can't get into Indi's for any other reason than college/broke nostalgia factor.

You can get better chicken/wings/whatever literally ANYWHERE, jmo.

70% of that 50 piece doesn't even contain a real full bite of chicken, TS.

Rather have a box of semi-stale wings from Kroger Deli & a bottle of hat sass, jmo.

Plus, if you're going ghetto wings, the River City has a plethora of ghetto places down on Broadway or wherever that are better...and you know this bc you've brought Chicken King and others in the past, right?

You cot damn right.

-Officially out for SECT, btw. Better to make the decision when I'm not mad & fuming & get all the ridicule out of the way early...but, it's done.

Looking forward to picking back up next year with the Monsta Squad. :sunglasses:
