Well, he's 1-9, averaging 17+ per game and is accustomed to going crazy in the second half. Should be a sober second half...

Skal looks quicker out there tonight, that's for sure. A lot of that is confidence/knowing (maybe, kinda, sorta) what's goign on? Some of it is that we're playing a HS team...

...but you can see glimpses.

I love everything about this game except the tip time.

-Murray has 2 points. Over/Under on finishing total? I'll go 16

Foulcus Pee in the doghouse?

Good.

Ulis is the best scorer on this team, TS. Yes, I know Murray leads us in scoring...but Ulis has scored more this year in real basketball time.

I seriously think he could get 35-40 in just about any game if he really wanted, he's seriously unstoppable.

It would be nice, but Cal isn't exactly known for this sort of thing... maybe the last 5 minutes unless he surprises us.
I know he doesn't like to but you never know how teams that are getting blown out will react. All it takes is one Mizzou hothead to end somebody's season.

As long as Murray busts his *** on D, which he has lately, and hits the boards decently for a guard, which he has lately, and doesn't make dibble all day long into TO's or bad shots, which he hasn't lately...I'll give him a pass on the occasional fast break ball hog or garbage buckets.

Hard to complain about anything in this game.

Every positive Skal play where the Rupp crowd gets into it makes me smile , baby steps big fella. Rupp gets it.

I don't know him at all but Internet bbdk not attending the sec tournament is BS imo. Ulis is your guy we will make a run. It's Nashville....

Just listening to Cal it's obvious he has his confidence back. that's pretty much my litmus.

So if an insurance company tries to deny your claim because it was an "Act of God," and you counter that you are an atheist and do not believe in God. Is it on them to prove there is a God?

A bit late to the party on this, my apologies.

First of all, I'm sorry about your loss. Dealing with a claim always kind of sucks, and is a inconvenience. Hope it all works out for you. Despite what the general public believes, insurance companies do not systematically try to screw people over, or not pay claims. Claims adjusters are regular schmucks like the rest of us, are pretty pragmatic about it. Coverage exists, or it doesn't. And more times than not, they'll try to lean towards bending in your favor because they'd rather deal with happy people.

Regarding "Act of God". I'm not saying it doesn't exist in some policies still, but most insurers removed that terminology long ago because of the ridiculous arguments people would make about it. The intent for it was obviously storms, but dumbasses are gonna dumbass. Anyway, insurance policies will be either "named perils", meaning the only things covered are those specifically listed in the policy....or a "special form/open perils" policy, in which everything is covered except those things that are specifically excluded. In the former, the burden is on the insured to show the loss was caused by a named peril; in the latter it would be for the insurer to prove it was excluded.

I'm going to say at this point I do not know watercraft policies much at all. They tend to be a little different. Boat insurance usually covers collision, liability (from damages you cause), fire, theft, vandalism. The weight of snow and ice, and the situation with the docks is a new one for me. Whether or not it is covered won't have anything to do with "act of God" wording though - it will come down to if it is a named peril coverage (which is more uncommon by the way) and it is one of the named perils, or if it is open perils, whether or not the loss is specifically excluded. If, for whatever reason, they decline the claim be sure to ask them to highlight exactly where in the policy it is excluded...then let the Gyero Law Offices, LLC review it free of charge before you pay for less adequate legal advice.

This charcoal gray pinstripe is Cal's best suit. Sharp.
Didn't you say the same thing about his last one too?

*buddy called with a last minute ticket. That was fun. This team shows up Saturday, and I think we sneak out of AF with a 2-3 point W.

God, Ulis is so damn incredible.

*9 or 10 year old kid sitting behind me was pretty awesome. Was his first trip and was there with his dad. Appeared like he might not get to go to too many games.

Just kept going on about how awesome/cool/incredible it was. Every good play he was losing his mind, every foul he was booing, every defensive stop was cheered. Just going bananas.

You could just tell that kid was on cloud nine.

Was actually really cool/touching. My favorite part of the night, actually.

Randos:

-Briscoe has changed his FT routine, starting a few games back.

1.) It's quick, no thought -- early in the year, he was taking about 8 seconds, bending, breathing, then releasing his stiff shot.

2.) Now, He takes one dribble with his left hand & shoots immediately (like he's just playing 21), which makes sense given that he shoots 80% of his pull up jumpers going to his left, and is pretty good at them. He had a rare one when dribbling right last night near the baseline, and it wasn't even close.

Good stuff. I think he can eventually be a 70% guy.

-Willis 18 & 12 [laughing]. Led us in rebounding for 4 consecutive games now (every game that he's gotten real minutes). Unreal. He's already getting some national pub, seen a few little articles -- but if we were to beat Kansas and he play well, he'll be a serious national story. Of course, I don't like those odds, just sayin... Harrelson all over again in terms of impact & flipping a switch? Could be.

-Never comfortable with this train of thought with UK Basketball, but we could still lose out in Lawrence and leave me encouraged. I want to win, and think we can -- but after I've had time to process, it will really be about how we played.

-Chad, Mustard, or whoever can whine/cry all they want --------> but Donovan Mitchell is dope AF. Love that kid's game. Silly athleticism aside, he sees the floor/creates better than anyone on the team. Just *looks* like an NBA player, I'm thinking he's gone.

-Dateline in Manitowoc Co Friday night. [smoke] #Couch&Chill

-DSC > Harry's, only b/c of the top trimming blade they have on their best blade. Gave them a free trial, and If/when Harry's adds that, I'll make the switch. Apparently it's coming.

-Killa nailed it regarding Murray. I can't even get irritated with him at all any more, b/c he flat plays his *** off on both ends. Furthermore, while he may make some (seemingly) selfish plays, he's definitely not selfish. He's high-fiving guys & acting silly/cheering on the bench pretty much all the time. Some people think looking at that stuff is stupid, but I don't -- it matters to me. He's a great teammate.

-Love hearing Kel talk insurance. What's he, 35 years into it? Should be a trainer/CE/Compliance guy of some sorts when he gets old, lazy, and tired of "really" working. One of my favorite things about it is that you learn something (many) new things every day. 7 years in, and I have to constantly ask questions to my Agency Manger, and much of the time HE (16 yrs) has to then ask the same question to underwriters/etc, who often have to double check themselves. I assume it's the same even for Kel. There's just an infinite number of scenarios involved, keeps things interesting.

-Poached Egg this morning over half an English Muffin w/ Salsa Verde. For my money, a perfectly poached egg is the prettiest food that exists.

Looks like Briscoe has copied Willis's routine b/c he does the same thing - one bounce then shoot. No pausing, no deep breaths. Just put the damn shot up without thinking about it.

I don't care if Skal rebounds as long as someone is. If Briscoe pulls down 6 or 7, what's the difference?

Cal completely agrees with you.

“He’s got to rebound or I cannot leave him in the game!” Cal exclaimed. “How many rebounds did he have today? None! Now, listen. We’re going to play Kansas. What if he doesn’t defend and rebound, can I just leave him in the game to shoot shots? You can’t be in! I mean, I love you, stay with me tonight at my house, I don’t care, but I can’t leave you in against Kansas unless you defend and rebound.”

Skal wants to be good so bad, I'm rooting hard for the kid.

For now, I'll just take what he does well -- if he can make 3-4 shots per game, block a few shots, and grab A rebound or two, he can still help this team.

He's getting better. The biggest thing I notice is that he seems quicker out there and more natural reacting. He's got a lonnnggggg *** way to go, but he's getting a little more comfortable each game, which even more than getting stronger is the most important thing to his near-term development -- not sure how anyone can disagree.
