diamonds on baxter is shockingly upscale/nice. or at least it was 3 years ago. have "they" taken over yet?

im loving homage. it's like white people reclaimed the vintage market from mitchell and ness.

skals jumper is slooooooow. i think he starts his windup around the top of his sneakers.

this thing gonna be full court? anyone reached out to jpuck, or any other qualified medical professional yet?

hyperbole = never in my life have i been shocked more by a players game than briscoe. the way he plays defies all logic. he's awesome.

Some team and player notes from UK Athletics:

UK is 10-0 this season when shooting at least 50 percent.

UK has a 15-1 record this season when winning or tying the rebounding but is 1-3 when losing the carom gathering.

UK is 61-0 under Coach John Calipari when keeping the opponent to 55 or fewer points.

Calipari is 114-4 (.966) in Rupp Arena. Calipari has two of the longest three win streaks in Rupp Arena history – 54 by Calipari, 33 by Rick Pitino, 32 by Calipari

Ulis is the first Wildcat with at least four assists in 13 consecutive games since Sean Woods in the 1990-91 season.

Ulis has eight games with at least 20 points and five assists this season, most by a Wildcat in any season with assist statistics available since 1972-73. Kyle Macy had seven 20/5 games in 1979-80 and Jamal Mashburn had seven 20/5 games in 1992-93.

Murray has made at least one 3-point shot in every game this season, the first player in program history to make a triple in each of his first 20 collegiate games

I read somewhere that in order to get kids interested in space they wanted to put Big Bird on the Challenger, but the suit wouldn't fit, so they instead sent the teacher. Regardless of whether that is true or false, can you imagine if millions of elementary school kids watched Big Bird explode on TV?

Remember it vividly.

Funkycat had a funny post in the other thread about "uh oh, here comes the TV cart rolling in" [laughing] -- that was typically a great sign. Guess everyone had those back then? Figured that was maybe just a poor/WKY thing.

You'll love him, SAE. He's a Hoosier fan. BBdk, I always return a flagrant with a flagrant. I have just one request: don't call puss fouls. This goes for everyone. If you get blocked, accept it and get back on D.

in high school/college we played at southern hills umc. games started at midnight. on weekends during the school year, or any night in the summer. only time we could get the gym for free. full court. 2s and 3s. first team to 120 wins. halftime when the first team reached 60. sometimes we'd play a second game.

usually finished the night at dennys, where dinner bell mel turpins gay brother was a server.

i was in *fantastic* basketball shape back then, but had yet to round out my ultramarathon physique.

And how do you explain big bird surviving? Because you can't write him off the show. He's a cash cow. Big bird is a cash cow
Well considering it was highly likely that most of the crew were alive and conscience during the command modules fall into the ocean you just say Big Bird flew off to safety.

the occasional church lock-in night which was basically a 10PM to 8AM experience of knockout games, Surge, and full court hoops, was something a young cclarkuk always had marked on the calendar

knockout may be a good way for GYERO Elite to ease back into full court runs

Richie, Vern and 73 will dominate this league. If the 3 of them ever get on the same team, which will probably happen a lot because nobody else can make free throws, it will be a long night for everyone else.

Also, I guarantee that BBDK tries to get his team to play zone at least once per week because he doesnt want to play defense.

I have a few goals when I coach my kids at 1st/2nd grade basketball:

1. Have fun
2. Get them tired

If I've accomplished this, I'm already ahead.

This should be goal of the Monday night league as well. :100points:

It's not Tomlin though he's played with us before when we played at that church back in the day. Tomlin is not a baller. Guess you'll have to check me instead, Richie. My apologies.

My game has evolved, Wodie. Shot is way too inconsistent so I like setting up teammates, driving to the rack and rebounding.

Vern likes to throw his body into defenders, throw multiple head fakes, lunge his shot into your torso and make 2 foot bank shots. Low post version of Luke Hancock. Not falling for your **** this time.

I have nothing whatsoever to base this on, but I feel like Vern may be one of those guys that thinks he is really good, but in actuality is awful. I picture a guy wearing elbow pads and a headband, throwing elbows way too hard for a pickup game, yelling at people to play defense, and getting beaten by his man over and over (but blaming someone else for not switching).

Basically Philip Seymour Hoffman in Along Came Polly.

No offense, Vern.

Nah, Vern will be the best player on the floor, or at least the most unstoppable.

Well, old Vern would have been -- not so sure his situation these days. But I'm sure he'll just stick to trying to be a bully for fear of his true basketball skills being exposed.

Will go ahead and mark the GYERO elite ballers league as the best thing to happen to the thread since forever.

Really looking forward to next Tuesday.

Last week I played at the downtown Y. Mostly high school kids playing. Seemed like a ton of football players from Central & Manual hooping to stay in shape. Decent runs.

There was this one brother though I swear had to be in his mid 50's. Old school AF. Was rocking some faded family reunion tee, short cotton shorts with a pirate on the front right knee and on the back said " Surrender the Booty." Wack brand high tops. Dude knew all of the angles, head fakes and was just straight giving the business to these young bucks every time he got a steal, pulled down a board or made his set shot. Set concrete wall picks. Dude never lost. Was neat to see someone at that age still get out there and have fun.
