I'm beginning to think that Skal is a kid who right now can only handle one thing at a time. If you look at the Nike Hoops Summit box score, he had 6 boards in 27 mins. I throw this out just because that competition was better than his church league. But it's like his confidence has been so destroyed by the college game, that first you have to get him back to scoring and then kick his *** this summer and get him to rebounding. He is the weakest center I have ever seen. Pretty sure at 5 '6" I could strip the ball from him.

* UK shot 0-9 from 3pt in the 2H (after hitting a 40% clip in the 1H), shot 13 less FTs in the 2H, were out-rebounded 42-31 overall, Poythress, Willis, Skal, and Lee all fouled out (Hawkins and Briscoe with 4) --- and still should have won the game, on the road at Kansas. Very different feeling after last night than the OSU or Auburn losses... /obvious

* Kansas recorded only two FGA in OT. Notched 12 of their 14 points from the line... o_O Even if 6 of the FTA are in garbage time, that's just stupid.

* That technical called on Briscoe in the 1H -----> [roll]

* Jesus Christ, WTF is wrong with some of you. I'm not even sure why anybody's even talking about Skal today. He didn't grab rebound --- so what? After not grabbing a board in the 3 prior games, you thought he'd go into the "Phog" and play like a phenom? Skal didn't cost us this game. If people want to throw the word "lazy" around today, take a look at Poythress's 2H effort. How about Lee for the last month? But no, no --- let's take out our redass on Skal.

* Not a Bill Self hater. In fact, I generally like him and I think he genuinely respects the game, UK, and of course Cal. That said, why do Blue Chippers keep signing up to play for him? Watching Cheick Diallo out there last night was cringe-worthy. Same with Cliff Alexander, Kelly Oubre, Xavier Henry, Josh Selby, etc. I guess Kansas fan would point to Andrew Wiggins...but even he underachieved while at Kansas.

Murray was supposed to be behind the three point line at the end of regulation. The problem was he was at the wing instead of in the corner. That's what Ulis was upset about. He needed to get to the corner since the pick roll was coming to his side and he needed to give Ulis more space to operate. He stayed at the wing and Murray's defender was close enough to stick his hand in on Ulis and knock the ball off his hip. He's still a freshman and he'll never make that mistake again. Things happened so quickly too I don't think he had time to run through and completely get out of the way.

Ulis had the flu too and had to leave the presser to go throw up.

Only second guessing I did with Cal was why not use Briscoe on Selden instead of Murray. Ulis seemed like the perfect match up for Mason. I'm wondering if he was trying to keep Ulis out of foul trouble by putting him on Graham or maybe he's wearing him out enough on offense and minutes wise that he's giving him an easier defensive matchup.

UofL opened at -1.5 over UNC, moved to -2.0. What the hell?

Lower ranked team at home favored over higher ranked team is classic Vegas begging for a bet on the higher ranked team.

Bettors have absolutely crushed those traps this year, but they do not always hit.

HOFCRP, man. UNC might as well stay in chapel hill.

Hope daggum Roy and the gang hang 100 on them. Shout out to the Card fans at Molly's last night who stuck around 6 hours after the UVA pistol whipping to chant rock chalk. Touching losers. And my friends wonder why I hate watching games in public. :chairshot:

Except his color work sucks. He speaks in a weird monotone. Doesn't seem to be into the game and frankly isn't adding a whole lot to the experience.

saw the other day where kyle wittingham just re-upped for $3.3 mill/year. sae was onto something. yeah, it takes a while to break thru. but damn if we didn't all get into the wrong line of work.

abh took kentucky +5. what's even worse than that, and flushing $1k down the john, is that he called and asked my advice. lol what a dumbass.

if you gave me a dictionary and asked me to pick out 3,000 words that describe skal, "thug" wouldn't make the cut.

lsu students chanting "f*** you, buddy" to the ou star. gd, that pisses me off. they aren't good enough fans, or even know wtf he is enough to earn the right to chant that. why are they so hateful? they literally have no clue who the guy is.

Proud of our guys performance in Allen Field House. Probably the nastiest place to play a college basketball game. Our backcourt played their guts out... We just don't have a serviceable big man this year and it was our undoing for this game. It sucks, but it is what it is.. That being said, I think we can still do things in March.... I may be looking forward to seeing Bam more than any other recruit next year. We are weak as hell on the block. Skal just needs to go pro on his potential and not eat up minutes for guys who can actually get rebounds.

Went back and watched Skal a little on the DVR. You remember in junior high basketball when the coach tells you to put a body on your man and box out when a shot goes up? They apparently didn't teach that in Haiti Middle School. There were several shots (both made and missed) where Skal didn't expect contact and was just pushed out of the way by the Kansas player. I am not questioning his hustle because he wasn't being lazy in getting to the right spot, but he didn't body up and he sure as hell didn't expect contact. It's like he didn't even consider he should do that.

I'd love to have a starting lineup like this next year:

Bam
Fox
Monk
Briscoe
Willis

Of course, Gabriel may be ready to take one of those spots from the vets.

His ****** FT shooting down the stretch and cramps aside, Briscoe was a badass last night. Kid drew 6 fouls in the first half.

I love Briscoe's game. I just hate his FT shooting... He really needs to get that ish correct.... That is his game.... Drive and make contact... Just make your damn uncontested 15 foot free throws.

- I would not have a testicle removed in exchange for Ulis returning next season.

- Weekend trip to Morgantown for the wife to to visit an old friend. Interesting place.

- Had Saturday to myself so day tripped to western Maryland. Drove around the area/state park/ski resort (probably not as good as Vail or Aspen), microbrewery lunch... not really what I was expecting of the area.

- Watched the game on my phone in our friends driveway as they don't have cable yet. Technology is grand.

actually had to google "how do iowa caucuses work." honestly had no gd clue.

so let's try here:

all these small town bumpkins go to their local high school gym/american legion/vfw, have an explosive series of arguments and political rallies, then several hours later basically vote by a show of hands or scratching their dudes name on a piece of paper.

that about right? wtf?

Kentucky Republicans are having a caucus for the first time this year, but from what I understand you actually go into a room to vote like normal instead of by a raise of hands.
