I just hope all the candidates have fun.
Attended my first & last NFL game ever yesterday. My Bengals looked fantastic. Nice stadium & atmosphere, well-oiled & canned product, but did appreciate the speed (duration) of the game.
Obviously, as with all pro sports, the level of play across the board is palpable, but to me the most glaring example of this vs college was the punting; not kidding. Those dudes just casually BOMB, damn near every time -- and with ridiculous hang time, placement, or whatever is needed.
Edit: Looked it up just to ensure I wasn't going to look like a dummy: Rehkow: 3/58.3 avg. Cole: 5/56

Several head scratchers. Why are we playing Clemson at 9:30 on a Tuesday?
If that is the SEC / ACC Challenge game that was decided -- GTFO. BBN is going to be pissed about a game against effing Clemson (I know they are good this year) starting at 10:15 on a school night.
Overall, though, pretty fantastic schedule, imo. If our only real late games are against quality opponents (or Arkansas), I can't complain too much.

As a Raiders fan, I had no idea ol Rich Scang was on the bench for us but it makes a ton of sense.
Luke Getsy is only slightly worse than Bush is when calling plays.
They better not start winning now though, gotta tank for Cam Ward (eff Shadeur and that whole family).

I tend to give the Raiders HC and front office no quarter but, admittedly, they apparently had a different staff altogether when they hired Kliff Kingsbury until he bolted for Washington (realizing they had a much better QB situation) and left the Raiders looking to fill a ton of important spots late in the offseason.
Scang's "best" work is allegedly with San Francisco and we know who's coaching the QB's there.

I know it's easy to gush about the movement and Jimmy is actually hammering the right point, the lane is wide open, but I'm stunned by the new look defense. Going over every screen and fighting tooth and nail for every possession is so damn refreshing.

Chandler has potential but isn't quite there yet, seems a bit jittery and that's understandable. Lamont just messed up his timing on those two bunnies. He won't let that happen again.
I'm not sold on Kerr just yet. I like what he can bring but there are about 3 to 4 other guys that bring that too, but better. Maybe he's still having hamstring issues?
Williams and Oweh are the type of guys that break a young team like Duke. Just physically demanding cats that are cool in all situations.
Speaking of Duke, only up 11 on a pretty meh Maine team based on last years results.

My first full, uninterrupted half of UK basketball so far. Everything is just . . . refreshing. With Cal over the last 5 seasons every possession was stressfully hopeful. What I mean by that is:
- Hope we score
- hope we get a good shot
- hope we make the right play
- hope we get a good shot
- hope we get a shot before the shot clock hits zero.
- hope we get an offensive rebound off the inevitable brick
- hope we don’t drive wildly into paint and draw a charge
- hope we don’t throw it away
- hope we don’t lose to a way lesser opponent
You get it. Anyway, I’m not hoping anymore. I’m just watching and enjoying.
