Heard it was a Jones Fracture. If so, I've had one. That's about 8 weeks minimum with most of that being on a scooter or in a boot. Not something that's easy to bounce back from.

I really hope that we have found a new “institution” for Kentucky. Since Rupp and I guess Joe B, UK has felt like a place that flashy coaches come to for 6-8 years then leave high or burn out. Guess Tubby wasn’t really flashy. This is the first time I’ve felt that a coach might be here until retirement and earn it.
I was always scared Pitino would go to the NBA and it happened. Worried about that with JCP for the first 6 years. Then hoped for it once it became clear that a ****** Wisconsin team could break him mentally. Tubby? I knew he was gonna wear out. Pope seems just crazy enough to pull it off.

Good to see Dave Parker get elected to the HoF. Young me was a big fan of his when he was with the Reds in the 80s.
I think Perry can handle what will be asked of him. Kid is a player and very level headed, plus he is a country strong fella so with his inexperience on this level he won’t get burned like Kerr, but I’d suspect he’ll be susceptible to foul trouble and some turnovers.
I wouldn’t rush Butler back but that because I see how important that SEC schedule will be and I’d rather him be 100%

Perry won’t be doing **** this year he’s not ready, he’ll get some spot minutes but I’ll suspect we’ll see Robinson slide into the PG role like last night in the big moments.
This. The Kentucky offense runs at an entirely separate level when Butler is in, which would more than offset him chilling out a little on defense.

After watching Jax at point last night, I feel just fine. I also liked that Brea snagged 7 boards despite struggling from 3. It was also good to see Garrison get 9 rebounds when Amari only had 3, but the two combined for 22 points. And I love that Carr tapped the ball away from Stromer after missing both foul shots. This team seems to have a knack for righting their wrongs and stepping up for teammates who are out or struggling.
Speaking of which, damn shame about Kerr. He had 8/3/4 before exiting including two from deep. That's pretty much what we would like to get from him.

Football is a culture sport. Who knew? FA & NIL killed so many teams in both NFL & college. Dan Campbell of the Lions laid the blueprint of gnawing legs and whatnot… we all laughed at the time… no more laughing. Get guys who really give a ****. Riddance to Barion and his ***** alligator arms.

- Excited for a trip to Indy next week for the Elf play. I kind of messed up scheduling it for a school day so the kids won’t be going to school the last day before Xmas break…….12/20 and they weren’t out for break yet, WTF, I blame the teachers.
- I have jobs going in Ruston, LA and Warner Robbins, GA that are determined to ruin my holidays.
- Bottled our first barrel pick in the distillery. Wasn’t prepared and see now I’m going to need some grunt workers. Wondering if there is age limits to work with alcohol since my kids are negotiating cash payments already.
- Traynum to the portal? Good. More signs Wilcox could be convinced with the right money.
If we are going to suck, supposedly, next year anyway let it rip with Boley and these position guys and throw what you have at an OL. We’ve been young on defense before so that side is a toss up regardless when you are outmatched.
I’m not scared of being bad and young, I am scared to not let these kids get the experience they’ll need to better themselves for year 3 or 4 of their college careers.

I have a confession to make. I went to bed at halftime of the gonzaga game. Wasn’t really out of anger, bc I fell right to sleep. Just being and old fat dad that had spent the day wrangling kids and taking them all over creation. BUT, fortunately for me my wife woke me up to tell me it was tied with one minute left. Quickly opened YouTube tv on my iPhone and watched it all play out. Mark pope just gives me the warm and fuzzies man. Loved the play call to get Oweh driving for a last shot. Couldn’t believe my eyes when we jumped out to a quick 6 point lead in OT. Those things just haven’t happened for us in years.

Xmas shopping is about 98% complete. Mostly baseball equipment for the older 2. That stuff is crazy. I hear hockey is worse, but baseball can’t be too far behind. It’s the accessories that get ya!!

I literally had this almost same exact conversation with another baseball dad while we were sitting at a cheerleading competition in Louisville yesterday (our daughters are on the same team).
The hockey part I know because my BIL played at UK and now has sons that skate over in the ice center leagues in Lexington. They travel to Cincunattuh a lot for games. Also ridiculous amounts of money.
But cheerleading is an absolute racket, it should honestly be criminal. And they don’t even have any equipment. It’s literally just the fees and costs for everything that are absurdly inflated. He and I joked that we should just start our own cheerleading competition and rake the cash.
It takes some odd logic to leapfrog Duke over Kentucky. My word... LOL
