Oweh guarding Nembhard.

Robinson running point.

Zone that goes to matchup man depending on if Oweh is to Nembhard and Robinson is to Hickman.

A lot of back cuts and plays designed for the overaggressive defense.

Didn’t shoot as many 3s.

All that added up to the W and probably more adjustments in one game than I’m used to in almost 20 years.
Facts!!

Top 5 comeback for me. Dead in the water without our starting point guard and you do that?

Also, Pope will appease Kerr with minutes but in real crunch times without Butler it will obviously be Robinson. Kinda feel like it also kept him involved in the game. He can disappear at times but not running the show like that.

I will no longer, and I mean ever, think that Robinson might only be a little game player.

Remember - unlike the past regime, we have an adaptive coach, who gathers data and adjusts.

Not worried. Might lose, ok, but will not be easy.
I’m not saying I expected it, by any means. But that is EXACTLY how I felt going into half time: “We may not win, but he’s going to figure out how to adjust and give it everything we’ve got to try.”

(Reading this thread after a game is pure comedy. I know in-game redass is a GYERO tradition, but F’ing A. 🤦🏻‍♂️)

Pope had a Hall of Fame coach scratching his head, searching for answers when he threw that 1-3-1 into Man out there in the second half. Say what you want, but I think we all agree Mark Few knows what the F he is doing and Pope just put him in the Torture Rack out there.
That looked like some **** Tark used to throw at people.

I was humbled at halftime. I felt defeated and really thought the weaknesses of this team were being exploited by a great coach (I still think we lack elite athleticism, and Kerr gets attacked repeatedly).

HOWEVA . . . I wasn't seething with rage like I might have been in an alternative dimension where a certain loud-mouth Italian was still waddling up and down the sidelines. I thought we would show a little resistance and make adjustments. I was just hoping not to get beat by double digits.

What that group did tonight will live on in UK lore forever. Historic effort.

I will give Amari Williams some credit.

About 2/3rds of the way through the game, I would have been ok if he had been stricken by a sudden illness that kept him from getting on the plane with the team after the game. He was fantastic in the waning moments.

The result would have been predictable with Cal.

Even if we made a run, there is little chance we execute with precision to close out the game with a W. We'd be wasting offensive possessions with pointless motion for 3/4ths of the shot clock before trying to squeeze a shot through a puckered *******.

We'd then suffer a post game analysis with him insulting our intelligence. He'd say we lost because we lacked toughness and Ware needs more minutes.

Calling a moratorium on:

-I said [such and such] and was roasted. I'm such a victim!

And

-I was right, you owe me an apology. I'm a victim!

Get that **** out of here, you weak-minded, validation-seeking poosays.

You know who you are (and the first who comes to mind is the 8th month).

Thanks in advance.

We have somehow lucked into the perfect coach at the perfect time for this program. It barely feels real.

A future insurance salesman knocks us out of the tournament in embarrassing fashion.

Andy Enfield leaves USC for oil money at SMU

Eric Mussellman leaves to go home.

Cal f*cks himself in the *** due to pure arrogance.

Scott Drew’s wife was scared of our fans.

A pure psycho turned us down because he just won back to back titles.

Cock tease Billy D sniffed around but was borderline on making the playoffs at decision time

Too Button looks around at who is left, and what do you know, a potential offensive genius, soon to be coaching super star, is just standing there smiling.

-Hope Kerr’s ok, he was solid tonight and gave us a much needed emotional lift.

-Loved the fire shown by Jax and Koby tonight, more of that please. Enough of the Mr. Nice Guy bs.

-Been asking for the zone and knew he had it in his bag. Perfect time to unveil it.

I wish they had stayed in it longer in some possessions instead of switching to man though. They were out of sorts when we stayed in it the entire possession. When we switched to man they caught us in some bad matchups.

It can be a nice option that can negate team’s post play, pick/roll actions and dribble penetration. Can be particularly useful with this team especially given we’ve got some defensive liabilities.

Cal will have some WVU flashbacks when he sees it. His team will be terrible against it.

-End of regulation I would’ve gone Jax/Carr pick roll or a Carr post touch.

-Williams was awesome at the end of the game. Nice to see him step up like that. BG had a great game too.

@TriangleUKCat, i’m sure you’ve been but wife and I went to Ian David Wood’s Christmas Carol today. First year his son is doing it full time. I thought it was a traditional version, first couple zingers I was confused as hell. Very entertaining.
I’ve been a couple of times and yes, if you aren’t in tune with local politics and general events it is very wtf at first. Glad it’s still going strong.
