As was noted in GYERO years ago, the fast-food GOAT in Lexington was (and maybe still is) the Wendy's on Nicholasville Road. Speed, quality, efficiency, friendliness, it was an absolute machine back in the day.
I'll tell you a fast food joint that's gone but not forgotten by me, was the G.D. Ritzy's that used to be out on Nicholasville Rd. Ate there many a times when I was a student at UK.

Has anyone else read the Lexington Blue articles this week in the Herald? The place has been known for shady business practices and strange sales techniques (putting out vague yard signs all of the city or placing stickers on gas pumps) but it was waaaaay crazier than normal bad business. This will be a Netflix Documentary before long.

And, personally from Pagel, they were given a large coin to signify they were now members of Pagel’s “Ordo de Libertas,” which translates to Order of Liberty or Freedom. Employees were told to carry the coin at all times, three team leaders told the Herald-Leader, and if Pagel texted them a picture of his coin, they had to text a picture of their own back immediately or be fired.
But Pagel had plans for a way to deepen that connection: He wanted everyone to do an ayahuasca retreat together where they would ingest the psychedelic drug. Pagel had touted the use of psychedelics in texts about his own “pilgrimage.”
Pagel had ordered Hodgson, Southwell and sales manager Daniel Liponi to fire a sales manager from Lexington Blue’s Cincinnati office in an oddly specific way. “He had us go up there, and made sure I had a gun. ... Brad asked us to break his legs, make sure he couldn’t walk,” Hodgson said. “And he said if there was any trouble, he had a hit man on speed dial.”

Speaking of great video games, anyone else spent mindless hours playing Grand Theft Auto, not trying to complete missions, but just stealing cars, getting in high speed police chases, running over people, picking up prostitutes, and killing them and anyone else just because it's fun to kill people, or is it just me?

Along with GTA
GoldenEye
Super Mario Bros
Mike Tyson Punchout
Super MarioCart
MLB The Show 2025
College Football 2024

and of course, Golden Tee PGA Edition, arguably the greatest cabinet arcade game of all time.
Nice set up. And I do also notice the little glass of bourbon sitting in the window. Curious question, is anything in the barrel in the what looks to be hallway to the garage ?

I can tell you who wasn't on top of their game back in the early to mid 90's, the Taco Bell in SuperAmerica.
I had many chili-cheese burritos from that place back in the day. Even made my own on a couple of occasions. Pretty sure im immune from e coli after eating there and not dying.

Oh yeah. Shoestring fries and the slickest tables in America. A wee Hank worshipped that place -- and the Rally's that replaced it. Speaking of Rally's, that place was amazing as a kid when it first came out. Their fries were a revelation and their commitment to shoving absurd amounts of meat and cheese into a bun was, frankly, ahead of its time.

I haven't been to one in probably 15 years and don't plan on changing that. I am, however, currently craving Fazoli's.

You could get an Ultimate Sampler and hop across the street and get a side car of Rally's fries pretty easily just down the road from me.

That is where the infamous “Willimena” worked. The first cross dresser/transvestite I’d ever met. She/He lived below me in an apartment on Aylesford. I honestly couldn’t tell if it was a man or woman for the longest time but eventually the 5 o’clock shadow gave it away. That was quite the experience for a young AW.

Im not sure what you or your kids order, but I can take my family of 7 to OG for less than I can take them to Fazolis for.

That is the stuff worthy of a Netflix Documentary.

Fazoli's is still fine. My kids really like their pizza so picking them up a double slice to share on the way home is a weekly event. I'll occasionally get a baked chicken alfredo and we eventually save up enough points to get a free family meal. It serves its purpose.

Breadsticks still slap though.
That's about what I figured. At our high school, they would just let us leave school to "sell" yearbook and newspaper ads. I spent many an afternoon going to Fazoli's for unlimited breadsticks and Nicholasville's finest Italian cuisine before heading to a buddy's house for Goldeneye and trampoline basketball.

A Fazoli's breadstick seems like it might still taste like it did in high school.

I didn't think there were anymore in existence, but apparently there are a small handful left. Three in Evansville, IN. I'll have to go there next time I visit my sister. There are a couple in Owensboro and one up in Columbus, OH, but those three dropped the GD and just call themselves Ritzy's

The Ole Diddy effect. Instagram **es reading the daily trial updates and think "HMM, I was with Zion for a while, he didn't break me off any cheese, I can scream rape / abuse and sue".

My 27 year old step-son who's diet pretty much consists of pizza, insists his favorite is Fazoli's. Never quite understood that, it's basically a kids menu type pizza. If they wanted to upgrade their menu and drive up sales, it seems they'd up their pizza game.

Their sticks are still really good, especially when served hot. The Sticks that have gone downhill are Little Ceaser's Crazy Bread. You used to get all good sticks of a similar size, but now they come in all shapes and sizes. and you don't get nearly the amount of dipping sauce that used to come with them.

Olive Garden is worse than Fazoli’s. Fazoli’s would never stoop so low as to trot out a BOGO, where the free one is a pre-packaged, frozen, take home version of the meal you ordered. May as well go to the Kroger freezer aisle.

Anyone else take +135 on 5-0 Andrew Abbott today?

I did!

Harping on OG for its quality while its comparison is Fazolis is quite ironic. I’ll take the kids to either for their sake, but now that I’ve actually had good eyetalian I hate spending $100+ at either.

I’ll just be over here, stimulating the economy.

Why did someone post a picture of a white water buffalo?? 🐃 Why can’t they just leave the extinct animals out of the laboratory and in the past!!

No offense, PTI.
