That's a congested area to solve disputes not to mention being close to the Glasgow Police Department. I suggest going to the local stockyard which has been a time tested location to work through differences.

Sports documentary updates:

-Echo Randall's take on "We Beat the Dream Team." You do unfortunately have to suffer through K putting his smugness on full display but it was still worth it. Phew, tough to see Rodney Rogers like that.

-Don't have any affinity for the Cowboys whatsoever but thoroughly enjoyed it. Would say I have never really cared for Jerry Jones but can't say I have really ever paid that much attention to him either. By the end of it, I grew to have liked the old SOB and I hope he never hires a general manager. Still LOL that he kept Jimmy Johnson out of the Cowboy Ring of Honor for so long just because they argued over who should have gotten the credit for the Herschel Walker trade.

-Haven't watched the SEC doc and have no intentions of doing so. Don't want to be reminded of last year or given any omens of this year. I will watch the games but the only enjoyment I foresee this season is watching Uncle Lou clips after Tennessee losses and whatever fantasy football glory that can be mustered.

-Not sure what will be more annoying, the coverage or the Kelce-Swift engagement or the people complaining about the coverage of it. It will be awful either way.
I'm not sure if TCCat will attend if it's not at the Taco Bell.

Look, b*tch. I'll be in Glasgow this week. We can settle this at Taco Bell.
I ain't in Glasgow no more. Try to pay attention.

I rep the BG set now. Doubt you'll show.

Also, the Taco Bell in Glasgow is actually a well run fast food option. It's clean and fairly efficient. But the best overall sit down restaurant there is Garcia's. It's not a usual small town Mexican joint. Very Southwest/Tex-Mex flare to them.

-Correct, walking post meal is one of the most beneficial things you can do, especially for the average person. Worst thing you can do is curl up on the couch but dang that feels good.

-FBall season has me close to buying the ESPN app now that I know about it. Mom loves texting me during the games which has been a thing for decades now. Hate to not do that. $30/month isn’t bad though I wish the whole schedule was out, can’t seem to find the games that will all be down, just the first few games. Assuming it’s because they don’t have times yet.

Also my screen is all jacked up and has random white-ish, green-ish areas with anything bright white on the TV but definitely watchable.

-REALLY hoping my last interview is Friday, these things are exhausting. Ready for offers and to commit so the next few years are set. Medic school in October is set up, figure out where I’m living (hopefully stay here, but totally fine moving toward the gal if that’s how it plays out), just ready to get back to having a more set schedule.

Although I love the freedom to do whatever, whenever, I thrive knowing how my day needs to be laid out. Also I miss that type of work.

-the one year celebration last night with the lady was fun. Didn’t do much but celebrate by eating Mexican and her with a top shelf margarita (made with fresh lime juice, sour mix is hot dog water, an abomination of the classic cocktail if you will) just like the night she decided to inform me I was now her boyfriend “but we’re not going around calling it that.” 😆 As in without saying it, we’re in our 40s/50s we’re not introducing each other as bf/gf, it’s hi this is Mark. Works just fine for me.

Very happy to get there, should’ve probably lost her in the first half of the year, rough times. I’ve talked to at least one person on here about it. But better than ever now.

^ not that anyone cares about all that, or anything really. 😃

-Tried to check out @MattJones on ESPN radio on my way back from Orlando today but couldn’t figure that out on IHeart. Instead caught 4 minutes of Clay Travis and some guy talking about the age of politicians and airplane pilots.

Hilarious for a brief moment listening to them say Trump was A OK at 79 but Biden at 82 was unthinkable. How about anyone over 75 can GTFO? No one said they can’t stick around advising younger politicians. Regardless of your political affiliation who the hell has the time or desire to spend hours listening to that garbage?

But I digress.

-Not sure how anyone gets Swift/Kelce news often. I heard one brief thing about it on KSR and that’s it.

Walking for an hour on the treadmill at 10/12 incline at 3.5mph rate steady state FTW. if not, do the stairmill at 8 for 45 minutes. Get that primo ghetto booty whilst keepin your joints healthy…

“Average person”

Pump the brakes on Cal Raleigh

in for the Texas game. Might be dragging my older brother with me.

I’ll clarify that, it’s really good for anyone, but for those that are sedentary it’s literally the easiest best thing to do, 10-15 minutes twice a day 💥, making progress.

I'm up to 25% confident (and growing steadily) that Cracker Barrel pulled this entire brand change thing as a giant publicity stunt and had no desire to really make any changes.. Here's what they did.
  • Leak that they're changing a logo to one that looks like Golden Corral.
  • Hold a "pop up" brand image change with hipster influencers in NYC (of all places).
  • Send out your unlikeable "posh" CEO to GMA wearing glasses that pretty much all blue collar people hate.
  • Get tons of people - both from the left and right - including the president to comment on how much they liked the old Cracker Barrel.
  • Announce that you're in fact not changing the logo and probably stop changing the stores.

They basically owned the news cycle for a week for what they paid GMA to agree to have their CEO on. Brilliant.

i think you are giving them way too much credit. I’d go with they over thought what they were doing, went in a direction that didn’t resonate. and now are backpedaling. The free advertising was a bonus, as any publicity is good publicity.

that said the “outrage” over all of this has been downright comical. People who haven’t stepped into a CB in years all of a sudden are so mad that they won’t go back. Just goes to show people like to get mad about something and that the masses can be stirred into a frenzy over the stupidest things.

I feel like I live in a different reality than people who ACTUALLY got upset about Cracker Barrel removing the guy from their logo. How could anyone possibly care? This isn't an Aunt Jemima, Uncle Ben's, Land o' Lake situation, they just modernized the logo. Same with the interior remodels, do I think it looks dumb? Yes. Does it change anything? No.

My biggest gripe with Cracker Barrel is they don't bring a pre-meal basket of biscuits and cornbread for everyone at the table anymore.

Similar to the Bud Light situation, I cared about it from a business strategy perspective. That's an interest of mine purely like I'm interested in pro baseball in that I like to assess the decisions, think about what I'd do different, and then see how it all plays out.

In the Bud Light debacle, I felt like the bigger F up was not that they sponsored that trans weirdo. It was Alissa Heinerscheid's bashing of BL's core customer base. Then the geniuses over in marketing made an advertisement where they made BL's customers look like bumkins. It was insane. Nobody likes to get talked down to... especially by some young, uppity New Yorker.

In the Cracker Barrel case, I feel like they could have rolled out the new logo - which actually looks really good on menus - quietly. I would have kept the old logo on the top of restaurants and road signs because 1) that costs a lot of money to change and 2) a portion of their base clearly cares about it.

I still contend that the one move that Cracker Barrel really f'd up on was sending their CEO out there to announce the changes. See my BL point. She's not a likeable person on screen. People don't like feelin like they're being talked down to by some uppity broad.

You and many others didn't do a deep dive into the change. It was much, much more than a logo change. Cracker Barrel obviously listened.

* The story about the sheriff who shot the judge last summer is heating up. If these allegations are true, it still wouldn't excuse murder but what a wild story. It feels to me like the news just keeps getting weirder all the time. Maybe we just have so much more access now than we relied on newspapers and nightly news.
The Sheriff's attorney is a frat bro of mine; his nickname used to be Blur and he'd be wasted every night but still always found a way to make it to class the next day.

Crazy video came out that showed him surrendering. Sheriff Surrenders After Shooting Judge

How he surrendered was wild and then at the end he's being consoled by someone that works for him who was obsessed with him and he was probably sleeping with her. He was kicked out of his house the night before and had gone several days without sleeping when this happened.

I typically GAF, just not when I come in here to try and escape that sort of thing for a bit.

Thanks for being an a$$wipe LowerLevel
Like with UKO, what is that guy hoping to get by constantly bitching about FCPS in GYERO? All it does is make people put him on ignore and, perversely, turn people against his position.

* Who is Ted Snodgrass? A regular with a new name?

The footage of the 4 deputies with ARs and tactical gear focused down the hallway when the sheriff walks in the behind them like everything is kosher is darkly comical.

-played golf for the 3rd time this past Friday. Was borderline blacked out about 15 mins after finishing the round. Find a group of 4 dads and it’s on, what a great time. Basically replaces going to a bar for me at this point

Was out at the Lakes yesterday. Absolutely perfect weather but man the greens were in about the worst shape I've seen them over the last 6 years or so. Was still better then a bunch of the other CC's in Columbus though. The weather has just murdered them this year.

Toledo beat Pitt and Miss State last year. Hoping they can come out and dominate the trenches and take care of business.

I don’t know any better, but my buddy was saying the same thing while shooting a 77like a jackass. It’s a beautiful course though imo maybe we can get a round in one of these days!

Not a new revelation, but:

JUSTIFIED. What an effing show.
Watched it as it rolled out week by week, season by season, 2010-15, loved it then.

The recent Walton Goggins craze, White Lotus, etc., prompted my wife and I to go back and binge Justified, to see him in his first big role (as far as I know).

Walton / Raylan / the writing / the dialogue are even far better the second time around, and on a binge.

When it hits its stride, it's damn near a comedy, especially when you watch continuously.

Always considered it one of the best shows ever, now I like it even better.

Just fantastic.

How can you forget Shane on The Shield.

Most golf courses struggling with upkeep due to lack of water this summer. Surprising considering the monsoons of spring.

Go Cats?

Great post 😀.
in case you can’t get thru paywall, wkyt has the story too:

What a mess they have at FCPS, now putting people on administrative leave for trying to tell them to do the right thing.

Reds were looking great a week ago. Unfortunately they got within a game of the wildcard, which triggered their patented week long slump. If they could just avoid playoff hopes, they'd probably be pretty good.

-Wow, 4 posts today and we’re less than 48 hours from Kentucky’s first football game… 😬

-If you’re a locally-owned shop like a bike shop, coffeeshop or hardware store, etc and you give my dog a treat from the counter, there’s about a 100% chance I’ll come back to you every time I need something.

-Reading for pleasure has dropped 40% in the last 20 years. Tried to tell y’all, tv is going to be the death of you… sedentary and brain dead. And of no coincidence at all Netflix started streaming 19 years ago, just looked that up 🤦. Infinity streaming options = people gave up trying to do, well anything…

TV has a purposefully inimical feel to it these days as far as its hold on society at large.

-Did something I hadn’t done in years yesterday evening, well except one time the woman and I did a watercolor painting night which was fun, painted our animals, but anyway I made a pastel drawing/painting/art, whatever it’s called. Turned on some Shane Smith & the Saints and just went to town drawing and painting a train for a couple hours. Enjoyable.

Getting swept by a team that has triple the payroll is fun.
