Pretty sure I saw a mountain lion when we were in NJ.

(Who was all in 70,000 strong on pumas in Kentucky on the old board? One of the funniest bits of CatPaw I can recall)

Has there ever been a highly successful coach that had a son that was as or more successful than their Dad? There's been things like the Stoops' Dad being a high school coach or Belichick's Dad was an assistant at Navy for years but the only one I can think of, but apple's to apple's, is Tony Bennett had a better career than Dick.

The Dream Game was intense. That was a tough loss to a hated rival. If my memory serves me correct, didn’t Jim Master hit a baseline jumper to send it to OT?
Yes.

First pocket knife I ever owned was a commemorative of the Dream Game complete with the school logos and score. No clue who gave it to me. Might have been worth something but I remember at some point years later while cutting grass string with the dull blade of it thinking why do I want a memento of something that is a bad memory so I threw it away.

Senator Pearl incoming.
cricket in AIPAC or something? Dude knew about Charlie Kirk before anyone else, too. Just saying.

@pretzel__logic I'm pretty sure it was Rob who doubled down on the Kentucky puma, before the ladder fall and inability to step out from his father's shadow robbed him of his ability to post.

Got to see Kelly Tripuka's Pistons at the Silverdome when I was about 13. :ROFLMAO:
Old defunct arenas/stadiums and regaling UK history fandom mashup…

in 1981, 11-yo Kook saw unbeaten #1 UNC v #2 UK in Brendan Byrne Arena in its inaugural opening. This was Michael Jordan’s breakout game of his freshman collegiate career I believe. UNC was lead by James Worthy / Sam Perkins era and they unfortunately destroyed our beloved Wildcats. To this day, I don’t know where all that baby blue came from… it was abhorrent.

Brendan Byrne arena still stands, but it’s empty like the Silverdome.

^Just looked up Brendan Byrne Arena. Same place the Cats won it in 96, right?

I think it was then called Continental Airlines Arena.

And that year was the last time the FF was held in a traditional basketball arena.

You know those Mandela effect things?

I read today that it's not VanFleet, but VanVleet. There is no effing way he was VanVleet in college.

As for the question whether it's put up or shut up for Reed? As the 4th pick in the draft he needs to show he can stay in the NBA and not hang out in the G-League.

I don't really think of myself as a baseball purist, but I haven't loved the runner on 2nd.

As for the other suggestions, I support removing intentional walks and limiting the number of pitchers, or penalizing the use of too many. The second catcher idea is dumb. The excessive passed balls really only occurs for like half a 9 year old fall ball season, in my experience. Once they learn how to pitch and catch, it's not as much of an issue. A second catcher wouldn't catch it anyway, with three people in his way.

Side note: the 8 y/o is destined to pitch. Took a few games to find the zone, but is now mowing down all comers.

I've been thinking about the infield fly. I think if it was removed, you could send the runner from 1st like a third of the way to 2nd. Runner on 2nd stays put. This puts pressure on the defense if they're trying to get a double play out of it. They'd either have to drop it, get the force at 3rd and then throw to 2nd, but that runner had a nice head start, so he may beat it, or they could catch it and try to get the runner at 1st who didn't tag. Still, he's not far off the bag, so it would take some awareness and a quick throw. If you send both, easy triple play. If you hold both, easy double play.

Got told by a sparsely-toothed, lost Stanley brother that he's been seeing African lions in the hollers around Hyden last week. Mane and all.

I had no idea that the stretch of highway from the Hal Rogers to Hyden was called Tim Couch Pass. That's cool as heck.

I also ate at Pat's Snack Bar in Manchester. Hell of a spot. Everyone is understandably on the smash burger kick, but sometimes a searing-hot, biga$$ cheeseburger with ice cold crispy lettuce, tomato and onion is heavenly. That contrast between hot and cold, soft and crunchy is tough to beat.

I saw the Kinks at what was called Brendan Byrne in 1982. I'm old.

Time flies when Gundy was a man at 40 and gets fired at 58.

I love a good breaded pork chop. Again, I'm old.

The second catcher rule is for 9 and 10 year old baseball only. I coach my son's team and it would just speed up the action significantly. Plus it would get another kid in on the action. Coincidentally, we won the state semi-finals in high school baseball my sophomore year on a wild pitch. Went on to win the whole thing. Can still see the tears falling from the face of the kid of the rival team who through it away. Lil' b*tch.

Every time I go hiking around the farms outside my neighborhood I feel there's a chance that I get eaten by a lion or tiger. I've seen camels and alpacas on these farms. Wouldn't put it past Billy Joe Redneck to have some sort of exotic wild cat back in these hills that somehow manages to escape as I knock out a 10K.

Several republican Ky senators released joint statement a few days ago calling out Fayette County schools

school board chair Murphy and superintendent liggins got mad, saying those representatives were playing politics.

Looks like school board chair and superintendent may need to rethink statements. now democratic reps are calling out the disaster at Fayette county schools.

A topic so universally agreed upon that both Democrats and Republicans are issuing statements about it and somehow you've used it to make everyone here hate you. That's quite an accomplishment.
I’ve also made everyone aware of it, which was my goal. I’m ok with my internet keyboard associates hating me.

Rather than start Reed this year with the FVF injury, they could try to trade for a PG. Names I've seen floated as possibilities are Peyton Prichard, TJ McConnell, Jrue Holiday, Scoot Henderson, Scotty Pippen Jr., Jose Alvarado, Trae Young, Derrick White, CJ McCollum, Collin Sexton & Ayo Dosumnu.

They've got some picks they could use but they might have to offer Reed to get anyone substantial since he's their best bargaining chip.

You been hiding under a rock? All the replies, complaining about my posts continue to give it visibility. Some here love the posts, others love to hate them….either way drawn a lot of attention, so yes goal accomplished. you yourself have given it quite a bit of attention and “liked” some of my posts. People just can’t help themselves to comment and keep the visibility up, which is hilarious. So thank you! They would rather their taxes go up to pay for corruption than to read/skip over/ignore my posts. Now it’s pretty much elevated publicly to a 10 alarm fire with democrat and republican senators calling the schools system out so I’ve actually not bothered to post a few times when there has been news.

There are private schools in Louisville that cost $27K per year. If your kid goes there from Kindergarten through 12th grade that's $351K not factoring in the time value of money. At just 5% interest you're at $478K. At 10% interest you're at $662K.

I get that public high schools and middle schools can be bad. But I feel like at the least you need your kids to public elementary schools for the cost savings alone.

Breaking news, FCPS is the only poorly run school system in the country. Not sure how I'd figure that out without incessant posting about it in here.

I have 3 kids in private school in columbus - 3rd, 1st, and preschool. It’s nowhere near 27k a year for those ages. Not sure what the HS costs but that would be the only time it would be near that price. If you’re paying 27k for kindergarten you don’t care about money at that point because you’re so rich.

I was referring to the schools that cost that much. There are others in places like the Northeast that are around $50K per year.
