Not to defend Brea, but Texas was pulling and grabbing then pushing into and out of those run around screens we do.

Not sure why we didn’t adjust after seeing it, but we didn’t and against UT we ran beautiful PnR action with Brea but also he shot from distance a few times just taking a few dribbles and pulling up with no help at all.

That’s the difference in “feeling it” and then not.

But 2 things I’ll add for shooters, 1 it’s always a boost to have them drive and attack to get them going instead of expecting them to just start pulling 3’s, 2 when picks with a big aren’t creating space it’s often a better idea to pick with said shooter or another shooter. That action puts a lot of pressure on the defense to remain with their guy or not to guess wrong where both defenders pick the same player to follow leaving one open.

Yes, Pope put this team together in 5 minutes.
Yes, these guys had never played with each other before.
Yes, we have won some games none of us thought we were going to win.
Yes, we are playing in perhaps the toughest conference in the history of college ball.
and yes, we are injured as hell.

But damn we lose some winnable friggin games after the last tv timeout.
Let's hope that is a fluke, and not UK's calling card for years to come.

To be fair, it had been almost 4 days since we won a game in exactly that same situation.
Not quite exactly since we got 22 minutes out of Butler and didn’t have to play Perry starter’s minutes.

Y’all can freak out but I’m not. Without both Robinson and Butler those games will be a tossup. With one of both of them, we can beat anybody and make a run. Pretty simple.

Some of y’all trying to give Pope offensive input are like Matt Jones trying to tell someone how to rebuild a car engine.

Koby got shutdown by good defense in which he’s shown he’s prone to, not sure why that surprised anyone.

I think we thought the game was over going into the last tv timeout and starting puffing our chests out too soon. Both teams were talking a lot of trash and we got sucked into it and it fueled Texas the last few minutes.

KSR keeps mentioning this trend of Pope losing games he was supposed to win after big wins and it goes back years. They simply mention that trend but don’t mention the teams they lost to (because it doesn’t exist).

Last year they lost 2 games they were favored in (UC at home and OK State on the road) and they weren’t coming off the heels of big wins unless you count Wyoming and UCF big wins.

Man what a few hours and didn't see but a few mins of racing. Get to Pit Road with a few minutes before they closed the gates for Trump to come in. Caught the AF1 fly by, Blue Angels doing multiple passes, Captain America calling the start then fist bumping all us after. Jack Reacher is there off in the corner (gd massive). National Anthem stage right there. The weather was beautiful until the rain. Complete sensory overload of 'Murica.

Mainly a lurker here, but GYERO is at its best when krazy is talking about weird **** like mucus plugs and brady is talking about NIL deals he's done with UK athletes.

In the immortal words of David Duke, can't we all just get along?

How come it is difficult for pro sports to not F up their all star games. NFL is a flag football joke and if the NBA players would try to play an actual game instead of a 3 point shootout or a layup line they wouldn’t have to resort to this ******** tonight. Cripes!

This is why the NHL is the most underrated league right now. They are holding their 4 nations cup right now (in lieu of the all star game) and the USA-Canada game had 3 fights in the first 9 seconds.

All Star game ratings struggling? Spend the majority of the commentary talking about how the player should try and bring in Kevin Hart.

That NHL game last night got **** right. I'd love to see more fighting on the NBA or NFL all star games.

Yep. MJ, Bird and Kobe wouldn’t have put up with today’s All Stars playing half assed and being buddy buddy. No sir.

Edit during final game: …and of course this game is sloppier than the others with little to no defense.

Why not drop the game and do HORSE competitions??

Kobe’s last all star game was something like 196-173. The all star game has always been stupid.

This one was impressively terrible though.

Pro football is no place for an allstar game due to the injuries so I’ll give that a pass.

Baseball, they try hard, but there are far too many all-stars. Would be great if they just had a 25 man team like they used to. Also, I wouldn’t be against them limiting the number of breaking balls per hitter to 1 in the name of “pitcher safety”. Would be more fun.

But the NBA, holy ****, all they need to do is try hard. Hell, just try hard half the game. Hell, maybe even a quarter. People would love to see these go at each other.

Jim: "Okay, you know I gotta ask it."
David: "Don't be silly, Jim."
Jim: "I have to."
David: "You're being ridiculous."
Jim: "Are you gonna do it?"
David: "Do what?"

** long pause **

Jim: "So, you gonna pull the plug on the WNBA, or what?"

🤣 🤣 🤣

And then David Stern forces out an awkward explanation of the league's deep commitment to women's basketball and the growth of the sport and maybe drops a stat here and there about tv ratings or attendance or whatever.

^ Unintentional comedic brilliance every time.

They used to get after it and play some actual defense ( in the 4th quarter) back in the 80s and some of the 90s. There were actually some pretty good NBA AS games back then. I think maybe late 90s early 2k they basically just stopped giving a **** all together . I don’t know what in the f that was last night and anything Kevin Hart has to be involved in is usually pretty insufferable.

America: Hey, it would be really awesome if we could see the best players in the world going full tilt against each other, even if it's for just 12 to 24 minutes.

The NBA: Hey guys, can you all just try hard for like at least a quarter of the All-Star game? We'll even pay you guys an additional $125K if you win. That would be like a year's salary for one of your hangers-on.

Players: GFY

The player empowerment era pendulum has swung way too far in the players’ favor. Bill Simmons has said recently there have been signs that this is correcting itself starting with the Lakers not including Klutch or LeBron in the AD and Luka trade conversations.

We drafted your son who by no means is anything close to a NBA level player. We’ve catered to you regarding coaches and players over and over and over. It’s time that ownership and management take back some control and hold their superstars accountable.

KSR has selected an odd show to rerun after a mid season road loss. This is my first season actually listening with any consistency and it seems they always rerun on mondays after long road trips, but with them being in negotiations it would seem best to have a fill in guest host instead of a rerun.
