- Was on a boat last week, so still catching up on everything, but....Buzz to Maryland? I mean, good for him that he's back at a basketball school, but still....he's such a weird dude, and TAMU is such a weird place, I just thought it was a match made in heaven.

- I know nobody cares about Womensbasketballsucka, but was there ever an explanation about why Cassidy Rowe was basically told not to come back for her SR year? Really weird move by Kenny Brooks, based on what I've seen...his first misstep, imo. But maybe there's more to it that I missed.

- (Ir)regardless of the result of tonight's title game, can't wait for all the completely unnecessary "WAY TOO EARLY TOP 25" rankings for next season. Not sure there's a bigger waste of internet space than those articles.

- Ditto for the "SHOULD COOPER FLAGG COME BACK" clickbait today. Just stop it.

- Trying desperately to avoid "White Lotus" spoilers until we can watch the finale tomorrow night, but judging by everyone's "OMG" reactions....sounds like it nails the landing.

- Two highly-recommended books I finished on vacation...."Misfit" by Gary Gulman, and "The Wax Pack" by Brad Balukjian. Two great reads, especially for those of us who grew up in the 80's.

Some shitdohs:

- Stopped in SLC before the Vegas convention last week. Really like that city. Low key, not crowded and really unbelievable backdrop every way you look. Lots of banking towers downtown, too - thought that seemed odd for some reason. Starting dumping snow halfway through our site walk so that definitely nixed it for future places to live but nice place.

- Vegas the most uncrowded I've ever seen it. Like zero massive Asian groups. Didn't get into too much because my work group is apparently the young-uns that go to bed at 9 pm because it's midnight back home. Paying for smoking so many heaters but popped $1,200 on slots and enjoyed many complimentary drinks going solo.

- Kid next to me on the plane headed to Augusta. Practice round with his whole family. Talking about being there to someone that has no idea, no matter how well you may describe it, has me pumped. I can still vividly remember everything from being one time and being on the heels of a Cats NC just further inscribed it in my memory. A little jelly but happy for the dude. Beg, borrow, cheat or steal - just get there once.

- No longer having a boss and will be a partner. Gave up lots of loot and it's paying off. Building for sale is goal #1.

- 10th hole yesterday the marshall rolls up in my backswing to tell us we're about to be in the middle of a shotgun start tourney. Yeah man, appreciate TF about you guys giving us that little bit of info when we were standing on the 1st tee as the first group as we have been doing for weeks there. Took a massive divot right after and just put me in a bad spot the rest of the round. I'd rather putt on punched greens that I didn't know about than have that amount of jackals show up mid-round that did and slow you to a crawl.

- F Duke

- All the Gator fans have all their sun-beaten old *** Gator gear out. Not ready for this obnoxiousness considering none of them I hang with know anything about their BB team. Houston, help a brother out.

- Not retiring anytime soon, started my career before the '08 crash and have a little extra pocket change so just looking for a deal.

- Back to hacking a lung and slinging locks. Be safe.

I enjoyed this season of white lotus. My only real complaint was that none of the Ratcliff kids had the North Carolina accent. The show nailed the parents accents but all the kids sound like they grew up in Oregon or something.

I would read the fan theories on Threads all season leading to the finale, and I think some people just don’t GET white lotus. They had all these elaborate ideas of what might happen and a bunch of insane twists and turns. That’s not really what this show is. It’s just a well written story about an unfortunate incident happening to people who don’t expect unfortunate events to ever happen to them, and the lead up to who it happens to. People think it’s supposed to be the red wedding every week.

Knocked out a few projects this weekend. Extremely sore. Eating a lot of chipotle. Really going all out. My mom invited me over for meatloaf later. She thinks (knows) what a pathetic loser I am when I don’t have a wife to plan my day to day. Really looking forward to that.

I think I’m going to spend the next six months as a groupie on Kesha’s “Tits Out” tour.

Jay Williams was critical of Flagg on that last shot. Said he should not have settled for a fade away, take it strong and make the officials make a call. With the whistle Duke gets, can't say I disagree with it. Also, they used the UK game with the turnovers at the end as the biggest reason they would lose if it happened. Also, not in enough close games to know what to do in that situation. I do not agree with that part. Up 14 with 10 minutes to go, it was not a close game, only making ONE FG in the final 10+ was atrocious coaching and player execution.
Proctor stay or go ? Evans stay or go / transfer ? Foster stay or transfer ? They lose Flagg, Maluach, Knueppel to the draft, Sion James out of time. If they lose the 3 others, Duke will need some serious transfer portal talent. Boozer is a stud (not Flagg good), but no Malauch or Knueppel in this years class. Nor is there a veteran Proctor like talent on the roster if he leaves.

Anyway, how much if anything did UK invest or help out with Kerr's surgery and rehab only for him to bolt as soon as the season ended? Something doesn't sit well with me on that whole thing.

Scheyer was 1-3 in games decided by 5 points or less these season, and they lost 4 games.

That can be due to youth, but it’s also because the coaches inexperience too. Just little things like when they clearly were struggling to get the ball in why not use Flagg there? Seems better suited than James.

Also I understand if you don’t give Flagg that chance the fans roast you, but only if you use someone else and they miss. What if it’s Knueppel and he hits? I think Knueppel is a better option to close a game. Too bad for him he didn’t get a single chance because he is teammates with Flagg.

Anyway back to Scheyer. Comparisons to him and Cal are going to grow as he gets to pad his record on bad ACC teams and choking in big game moments.

UNC won’t stay down forever, UL is clearly getting better, Will Wade will have NC State competitive, and Clemson seems to consistently be tough, and if Pitino can push for the Big East and ACC to combine enough to happen Duke basketball, at least Scheyer, will struggle.

Scheyer is fine. He's not going to be K probably but it's not like they had any major drop-off. They've been in the Top 12 all 3 seasons. But if the media and Duke fans want to blow up their program like UCLA did post-Wooden and go through 4 coaches in 5 years because he's not his predecessor, that works too.

I have no issue with Kerr or UK's handling of his playing time. Could he have come back a little earlier? Maybe? But even so I don't think we would have gotten more than a couple of regular season games and the tournament and with the amount of rust, I don't really think he gives us a lot that would amount to anything.

Everything I heard was 6-8 weeks of healing but then at least 3+ weeks of working that foot out to be able to go. That would have put it at the end of February, beginning of March at best. And if he tries and can't go then he's lost his redshirt. Probably the right decision for everyone.

Agree, can't really **** on Kerr, he was here playing, was a great teammate, non distraction, not like he asked to get injured. He got hurt playing for UK, no matter he played here again or not, UK owed him medical treatment.

When they were up 6 the following happened:

1) Houston makes 3pt basket
2) Houston steels inbound
3) Houston dunk
4) Duke misses front end and BS foul on Duke during rebound
5) Houston makes FTs
6) Flagg gets good look but misses

In my opinion that wasn't anything close to **** the bed Cal being up vs Wisconsin and telling our band of future pros to run basically back-to-back shot clock violations plays.

What I'm saying is, Duke choked but I didn't think it was all on Scheyer.

Maybe rewatch that last minute. I’m not sure how he was out of TOs but he only had 1 and James used it to avoid a 5 second call because he couldn’t inbound it and had a 6’9 big guarding him.

Then on the next play they inbounded but it was deflected out of bounds and the player couldn’t move.

When a kid is having that kind of struggle maybe switch him out.

Duke didn’t, and it was a turnover on an inbound.

Of course that doesn’t show up in the scoring play by play.

Man, BJW is hating these portal additions on the socials. Whoever mentioned our mentality of the Cal years has nailed it. If they aren't top 15 guys (in spite of repeatedly losing to teams comprised of non top 15 guys) they want nothing to do with em.

Houston beat Duke scoring in the 60’s.

Not sure why people aren’t talking about their ability to control pace. They also have 2-3 dudes that are strong enough and willing to get in Clayton’s grill and not allow him to go off.

I still feel that line is begging for UF bets so I’ll be on Houston but I flat out love this UF team and I have a hard time believing they aren’t a 4-5 point favorite.

Should be a great game.

There were several games this year where it felt like if we could have just strung together 3-4 stops in a row in the second half the outcome would have been different. Dioubate can help that in a big way. Just seems like the type of guy who most championship teams end up having. One other thing I dig so far: the three dudes we've brought in have multiple years of eligibility. Pope is building a program.
