Hamdan's big epiphany was remembering that short passes exist. For a season and a half, it was run it up the middle, jet sweep, or bomb. I think moving to a freshman QB made him think about being more QB friendly, and the OL coming into their own didn't hurt. I mean we aren't burning up the scoreboard regularly or anything, but we look competent for the first time since the Jaguars HC roamed our sidelines.
Woke up to a surprise snow in BG. Absolutely gorgeous morning in our corner of the county, with bluebird skies, fall colors hanging on, and a white blanket of sparkling snow.
One of the coolest parts of my job is that I occasionally get to venture into the woods with biologists and ecologists and their wealth of knowledge about the natural world. It's like a David Attenborough doc about Kentucky, but in person. I eat it up.
Been getting back into fly fishing a bit. Found out there's a small, stocked trout stream with public access about 30 minutes from the house. No luck with the rainbows yet, mostly just creek chubs. Fun though. Kid is finally getting to the point where I can actually fish alongside him and not just untangle, re-bait, and re-hook all day long.
My interest in playing music has been all over the place, genre-wise, for the last 25 years or so, but it started with bluegrass guitar and I've come full circle lately. I definitely don't have Tony Rice's dexterity, but love picking on the same kind of chords he used. G-C-D only goes so far.
Hoping for a chippy environment tomorrow. I love hating the Louisville Cardinals.
