I’ve ended up on the side of Twitter where Florida fans are revolting and trying to pull a Stoops/A&M with Sumrall and it’s pissing me off.

Why? They wanted Kiffin and got outbid they should be pissed.

They have no clue who Sumrall is and they’ve hired 3 small school coaches from no where in a row and have fallen on their faces!

They should never be in this position with the talent base they have!

Hopefully Sumrall see’s it for what it is and says F off!

Wouldn’t that help our possibility of getting him (As slim as that might be))? What’s pissing you off about it? Just curious.

I am about exhausted with UK athletics.

Some of us have been screaming for the guy for two full years.

We will watch our permanent SEC rival get him and they don’t even want him.

F*** Mitch.

Occasionally I think - objectively, if I had no connection to UK, would I enjoy watching them and would I root for them?

Tough question right now.

Sounds like Sumrall is waiting on Kiffin to decide so he can use Ole Miss as leverage for driving up the offer from Florida.

If Sumrall had a real pulse on what’s happening in college he’d actually follow Kiffin at Ole Miss and steer clear of UF right now.

Then again if Kiffin isn’t caught up in climbing a ladder he’d stay at Ole Miss.

I don’t think either LSU or UF know what the F they are doing other than trying to be what they used to be.

I’m as sick as anyone. But what I don’t have any idea about, what is realistic financially? Could we actually come up with 38M in cash in 60 days without irreparably wrecking a department already running a deficit?

Sumrall going to Florida makes me sick. Ole Miss not as much, but would still suck. But here’s the thing - even if we canned stoops today, in light of that immediate 38M outlay, are we going to outcompete UF and Ole Miss on cash for Sumrall? No. He may want to be here and have allegiance here, but there would likely be several if not many more millions annually that UF could give him that we cannot give him, and never will be able to give him (unless there is a 50M Joe craft or weed cartel slush fund I am not aware of?). He’s not going (nor should he be expected) to leave millions on the table to come back home and save his dogshit Alma mater.

When/if we separate with stoops, we’re hiring a cheap, swing for the fences type. Or a washed up retread. A Rich Brooks type would be our best hope - and you know how rarely that play works out. Mitch is leaving this program bankrupt.

Well that’s doom and gloom.

I’m not sure it will ever be as bad as when Stoops came here and it seems he did a good job erasing those memories from your mind.

It’s funny how the playoff committee positioned SMU and Pitt ahead of Tulane in order to avoid a disaster scenario where Tulane (or N Texas) and JMU were ranked ahead of the ACC shutting the out of the playoffs and then the both went out and lost putting unranked 7-5 Duke in the ACC Championship.

Well, Mitch lined his pockets with tens of millions while making UK a party to the worst pair of contracts in college sports history and botching a third unsigned contract for the coach of our flagship program. And he had an entire sports complex named after him, just for managing money that he didn't earn.

So I don't know what more you want out of University of Kentucky Athletics.

I am surprised Florida ended up with Sumrall and even though I believe he is a solid hire it’s going to be interesting watching how he progresses because I thought Mullen was a match made in heaven there.

I also think he will not have a long leash there due to the failures of those before him so I wouldn’t rule out if he struggles that at some point he could still be a UK head coach at some point.

You are going to tell me the guy most of us wanted since the A&M fiasco is going to our permanent rival THE SAME DAY WE CAN STOOPS?

There is no human being on this earth I hate more than Mitch B.

August-only get on X under Grand Slam Collectibles. Hope he hates Mitch too FWIW
