Welcome, Gerad Parker!!!!
I'd guess Jacob Tamme is vouching for him as part of the group that's making the decision since they played together. Hopefully, he's a distant 3rd.

It appears that the other two would take it if offered anyway.

I’m not sure how or why Tamme has as much influence as it appears. I mean he was a good player 15-20 years ago but so what. I don’t know much about the Parker dude, other than I remembered the name from him playing here, but that doesn’t qualify you to be the head coach.

Agree about Parker but Tamme is on the Champions Blue Board and he, Mitch and Marc Hill are the ones making the hire apparently. Couch helped out the last time.

Gerald Parker is a captured serial killer also known as the Bedroom Basher. If we hire the football Gerald Parker, we should call him the Bluegrass Basher.

Groan man is my hatboggan.

As much as I wanted Stoops to GTFO a couple years ago because it was clearly time, I don't hold any ill will. He coached UK to some of the best seasons of my life, had slews of great, fun players (obviously we all wish there were more), and got my lifelong diehard fan grandpa some amazing wins. Beating the hell out of Florida repeatedly is a treasure. I hope Piglet gets the break he clearly needs and recovers from the last couple years that were as ****** for him, if not more, than they were for us.

(Compare: I still hope John Calipari has incurable hemorrhoids and steps on Legos for his sins. And that he gets food poisoning on a regular basis.)

Some Brohm to Penn State smoke out there which would suck because it could then result in a bidding war for Stein.

what’s f*cken CRAZY is I think Mitch might’ve accidentally nailed this entire process. No bidding war for sumrall. Will get Stein or Hartline for a decent rate. Avoid any James Franklin scare. Stoops **** himself live on the air twice in consecutive weeks and lost any and all leverage he might’ve had otherwise. I mean Mitch Barnhart is one lucky dumb son of a *****

He's especially fortunate that Stoops didn't play hardball on the buyout. Lucked out similarly with Cal.

F a bidding war! If we felt that would happen then offer Hartline and keep it moving.
The timing won't work out anyway since Penn State is waiting on Sitake (BYU) and he won't decide presumably until after this weekend since they're in the Big 12 Championship Game. Need to close on Stein soon which sounds like how it's trending anyway.

Is anybody still in shock Mitch put a clause in the contract that said we have to pay Stoops the full amount in 60 days? That is unbelievably crazy.

Completely. It's as if nobody was negotiating UK's interests, and we have an entire fng legal department.

Stoops probably wanted 30 days and Doofus Mitch thought he did well holding the hard line at 60.

S**t, another possibility is we sign Stein, Brohm goes to Penn State, and Hartline goes to UofL

I’ll say it, if Stoops had the vision to hire Stein as his OC the year Coen came back then he’d probably still be here with the current coach and enjoying a lot of success.

Sadly as the head coach he just couldn’t evaluate offensive minds at all, or compose a defense around offensive intelligence.
