Rob Reiner And Wife Michele
  • Throats Slit By Family Member
Rob Reiner and his wife Michele had their throats slit by a family member, possibly after an argument inside their Los Angeles home, leading to their tragic deaths ... TMZ has learned
It's unclear what exactly triggered the violence, which went down Sunday afternoon in Brentwood ... but we're told one of Rob's daughters found her parents dead and told police a family member had killed them. PEOPLE reports the couple's son, Nick, is being questioned in connection with the murders.
Our sources also say the daughter told police the family member "should be a suspect" because they're "dangerous."

Another Christmas random

We have four Christmas trees for the house. I mean, I don't get it but that's not a hill you want die on. What do I care?

I mean, it's weird but not insane, right.

But this is fun part, and my main job. It's not like each tree has its specific ornaments that go on that same tree every year. That's not how it works here.

Up in the attic there are about 24 really large totes. and they're divided in pairs. Tote1 and 1a (they're labeled like that. Each pair represents a different Christmas tree "motif" One pair for instance is for a "Moroccan themed tree set" and has all the ornaments lights doodads garland etc." Another pair contains a "Carribean set", and there's a "Mid-Century" set which has ornaments etc. that look like a tree would in the late 50's early 60s, you get it.

Anyway, the wife decides what we're doing that year, and gives me the manifest of crates to bring down. Once I do that, and assemble the trees, I'm out.

I haven't been allowed to participate in the actual decoration of the trees since our first Christmas. My "attitude and attention to detail" was substandard, so I was fired. Which is fine with me.

And here's the thing, I don't ever remember BUYING any of that stuff. And it's a LOT of stuff.

For the record, I like the Mid-Century tree when it makes the cut. It's got like small martini glass ornaments, atomic age designed stuff etc and the tree topper looks like a retro blender. I never SAY that of course, because she thinks I have poor taste, and that might make her second guess that one and retire it.

I only attended a few tailgates (before everything moved to Anth and Sloot's house, but the highlights were:

Wodie running from the cops/security in his meat wad costume and tearing a side mirror off a car by snagging it on said costume. (He was late for a wedding LOL)

80 proof urinating on and/or setting fire to an inflatable alligator (Florida game)

Meeting UKO (and his gold chain) who actually was decent guy in person, he just was, as I said, not up to 80's beer bong. That's not to dismiss the fact that he's extremely misguided on a LOT of things in the world of sports and music though. Completely unrefined in those areas.

cawood firing a beer into Anth's tailgate flatscreen that was setup in the rear of the blue tailgate van (I couldn't believe it broke, I mean he didn't put any "mustard" on it. It was more of a "gentle toss")

Bernie cooking deep-frying turkey while wearing a toilet seat around his neck (I think he was supposed be a turd)

Grumpy Blind Karl Hess annoying the sh*t out of BBdK

Not being able to convince BBdK that I WAS in fact Chester Marcol (my original handle. It got suspended because I misbehaved badly on the Louisville site, and the guy that ran their site raised such a stink that he demanded and GOT the lifetime ban/death penalty) Wodie was convinced that I was some fat/bald teamster or something, and I had to provide a lot details to prove my identity LOL.

Learning that PTI actually DOES constantly clear his throat, and him running around with an ape mask on.

Hank was at one of them as well, and dresses like a ranch hand.

And TCPChumps actually DID look like Nap Dynamite.

80, cawood, Anth and Sloot were probably the only people out of the group that seemed like genuinely nice people though. The rest of them were mostly dick heads. LOL

BBdK IS a blast to party with though. I'll give him that. A complete take no prisoners pro at it. LOL

The rest is a blur.

Ill consider myself part of the blur contingency.

Only two trees here, one is all Cardinals. I know. Wife is obsessed with them and their meaning. Given I have a family of them living in my garage this winter, it takes on a different meaning for me.
My knees can't handle trudging boxes, containers up from the basement as we change holidays, seasons.
This extends to the outside as well. Have multiple lawn decor items. Wife couldn't, didn't look, find our newest structure. Buys a slightly different one right before I found the "old" one in minutes.
We have fall, winter, spring pillows for indoor and outdoor furniture.
Christmas china replaces the china we do not use.

These are some of the many reasons our wives will outlive us.

* Woke up to the news of the Great Bert Higginbotha passing away yesterday, courtest of a text from wcc. Honestly, I don't remember a single thing in 25 years about the guy posting on here. I just know that we (and particularly BBdK) used to have fun with how comedic his name was. And yet, it still hit a little hard, "knowing" a guy online for over 2 decades and learning of his passing. Moving on to the big message board in the sky, alongside rebzone, RonW, etc. May he RIP.

* About to lose a very valuable client, who I'm meeting with tomorrow. I really feel for the guy. Despite representing 70 other businesses, plus an addiitonal 100 individuals who don't seem to have an issue, it turns out his particular account is impossible to log into, he can't access any pertinent information, and to put a little cherry on the top, and the biggest carrier in the state is totally inept. I mean, not for anyone else. Just him. Oh, the bad luck of this poor guy. Prayers requested.

* Top 3 things that bitches ain't s*** but:

1> tricks
2> hoes
3> all of the above

* Christmas shopping is AWESOME. Lass has a great annual routine going. Sometime in mid October she casually mentions how much she likes some jacket/pants/dress/jewelry/etc online. Two months later, she wonders if I've ordered it for her for Christmas yet, because who can't remember these things and put them in a virtual shopping list lockbox? Unfortunately, come to find out, this particular vendor specializes in limited quantity social media "drops." SOLD OUT. Never to return. Back to the Dog House for dad. Happens every year.

* Mar-a-Lago Face.

* FInally started Landman. How is Billy Bob Thornton so F'ing cool? I'd gush about Ali Larter, but what's the point? We all know.

* I'm pretty meh on Will Stein. Honestly, I don't think he's as talented or will be as successful as Mark Stoops. Just my personal opinion. But in today's college football, with $40 million being a proverbial drop in the bucket, I'm willing to at least roll the dice and find out.

* On a big Stephen King roll, for some silly *** reason. Just plowing thru all his classics. Easy, quick reads. Moving on to Seth Harp's Fort Bragg Cartel next.

* Yes, I was interviewed on the Newell Normand show, live from the Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting. Thanks for asking.

link:

33:30 mark.

* 47 years old, been running my entire life, and I've still managed to avoid any catastrophic injuries. No surgeries, but boy oh boy are the aches and pains mounting. My current conditions......

- i literally strained something in my ankle putting on a sock 2 days ago
- turns out i have a bad shoulder, which i didn't know until i started trying to lift heavy
- my back is weak af. got an mri, and doc just told me i was old and out of shape
- i have the mobility of a corpse after rigor mortis has set in

Wonder what's next?

* Jazz Fest (2026) = Tyler Childers, Jason Isbell. Y'all can't see it, but right now I'm doing that heart hands thing just thinking about these shows.

* Remember when the WC would take a big road trip, and the entire site would log in Monday morning bright and early just waiting for us to come home nad post about the weekends antics? Those were the Glory Days.

* Why even watch Wheel Of Fortune? That show is terrible.

* Twitter keeps showing me Darren Sproles highlights. Algorithm success = confirmed.

* I love my 5am morning routine.

- wake up
- pour coffee
- start space heater
- read book
- youngest dog plops down in front of said space heater and steals all the heat

* The Cats dropping another Tier 1 matchup, and Bryce Hopkins posting a triple-dub won't be good for any of us, but I'd probably take the over on that happening.

* We're proud new members of the Bird Buddy family. Can't believe it's finally here.

* My dog, she kicked it.

When you say your wife is obsessed with their (christmas trees) meaning are you referring to the pagan traditions of using evergreen trees to symbolize life and renewal during the winter solstice (darkest time of the year)?

Just sent an e-mail to Mark Story, LHL.

Hi Mark, I hope you are doing well these days.

Today I am writing about my concerns for UK Athletics, UKAA and the UK Board of Trustees, and I’m wondering if you or one of your colleagues sees potential cause for an investigation.

Lately there’s been a lot of discussion about JMI’s role in the NIL process, and more particularly, JMI’s familial connections with the UK Athletic Department. In addition, the University just survived a contractual showdown with Mark Stoops, after he agreed to waive his right to be paid his entire contract within 60 days of termination.

These issues resolve around the nucleus of Mitch Barnhart and his staff, and the UK Board of Trustees. I think there are a number of questions that are begging answers:

-Did the UK Board of Trustees ratify Stoops’s contract with its absurd 60-day payout of his entire contract? That was an arrangement that seemed to be completely unique in the world of college sports. That provision alone hamstrung UK and limited its choices while Stoops was employed. UK has an entire Athletic Department, an entire legal department and a Board of Trustees – did anyone advocate for UK’s interests in negotiating the contract with Stoops? To me, the inclusion of the 60 day buyout was, at best, gross negligence by all those who agreed to it; perhaps worse. The 60 day payment period was completely untethered to industry standards. Barnhart and the BoT both need to be investigated for this. It would go a long way if a few Trustees would answer some of these questions.

-UK’s contract with JMI is troublesome for at least two reasons:

(1) as your colleagues have reported, the UK-JMI deal seems to be unique in that it limits NIL opportunities for student athletes, whereas other schools impose no such limitation.

-Did the BoT examine this arrangement?

-Did it ratify UK’s contract with JMI?

-Did the BoT consider whether the JMI contract puts UK at a competitive disadvantage against other schools?

-Since JMI’s primary duty is to maximize profits, is there not an inherent conflict of interest with the success of UK Athletics ? Obviously, the less that JMI has to pay student-athletes, the more money it makes.

-JMI has no direct interest in the success of UK’s athletic teams; its goal is to make money.

-Did anyone on the Board consider these issues?

(2) I understand that one of Barnhart’s top-ranking colleagues, Rachel Newman Baker, is married to Brandon Baker, a JMI Executive. This is patent nepotism and an inherent conflict of interest. Such matters can be overcome, provided that disclosure is made and examined by the governing Board, the BoT. Did the Board even review this relationship, and why and how did it conclude that the relationship is proper? The public deserves to know.

(3) A fifteen year contract with JMI seems much longer than industry standard. Has anyone questioned this? Why did Barnhart agree to such a long obligation? Again, did the Board review and approve it?

(4) Barnhart originally said in 2010 that he planned to retire within the next year. He’s hinted at it several times since then, but has now been AD for 23 years. Is there a reason he’s now so dug in? Whether or not there is actual impropriety, there certainly is the appearance of it. UK is a public university and the taxpayers deserve answers to these questions.

Thank you for indulging me. Whether or not the problem is impropriety or gross negligence, the public needs answers to these questions, and more. I sincerely hope that you and/or your colleagues search for answers to some of these questions.

- In reverse order Century,

1) pretty sure Anon would be PTI(pti).

2) Matt caused a bit of a kerfuffle the other day on KSR when he went after LHL's Cam Drummond's comments that the KSR report on JMI is misinformed due to only getting one side of the story. He felt like this was attacking Polacheck's article and asked why Drummond hasn't done an investigation yet. This in turn lead to Streble attacking Jones because he's tight with Drummond (Cam, not Geoff), said there was nothing wrong with Drummond's comments and that Drummond is investigating it but it takes time because he's a REAL journalist. Sports jock talk war aside, it sounds like LHL is investigating it but I wouldn't look for it in the weekend edition.

- I'll pour one out for BertHigginbotham. I have sat here thinking about it and I don't think I can recall one post from the guy but my general feeling is that I liked him.

- I have many totes in the garage piled up that are dedicated to the storage of Christmas decorations as well as seasonal outdoor and indoor decor thanks to the missus. I can't complain; my house looks like an actual adult human lives there instead of a frat house. She still lets me have the Christmas tree decoration I have always done...a white artificial tree adorned with UK ornaments. The rest of it is all her though.

- Louisville vs. Tennessee tonight...think I'm actually for Tennessee. Would be nice if the UT crowd showed some of their UK hospitality to the Louisville media contingent in attendance.

Hoss, I didn't know you were still around. You're not blur contingency.

Im still kicking, brother just not kicking as high. Wheels came off after i lost my parents man so doing a factory reset at 50 was in order. Two plus years of sobriety, working full time in the hospitality business, rescued me a couple of pups, and just living life man.

Glad to see youre still fighting the good fight and keeping these momos in line.

I "read" Fort Bragg Cartel on Audible recently. 🙌 (pretty messed up, though)
That book is frightening.

I am curious to see if the Herald Leader does any actual investigative journalism into the JMI deal. We are indeed missing Jerry Tipton and trained journalists behind the scenes looking into things.

I will leave up the link for hot to get a media credential, just inc case someone wants to mess around with the fuddy-duddies in the UK Athletics Department. https://ukathletics.com/news/2020/08/26/credential-requests-and-criteria/

Can someone explain why this means Collins can’t come to UK still?

Committing to us shouldn’t mean signing your life away to JMI on a nil deal. If you want to garner your own NIL deals why would that eliminate UK from being an option for Collins still?

I mean if Barnhart signed this contract UK will never be able to attract a top coach. Why would someone sign up to coach here with an immediate uphill battle to sign players with the pressure to win here?
