Willie was awful, but it's one of his few complete clunkers of the season ---> of which everyone on the team has had many more of, to be certain.

He's been an All American most of the year, so I'll give him a pass (for now)

Missouri played specifically not to lose by 50 last night, and by playing the way they did, they played into our hands.

I also agree with the first person to say that the team was bored. They are. Great teams get bored. '12 got bored, but they at least had Florida and one of the most competent Vanderbilt teams ever to keep them motivated. Who do these guys have until tournament time? LSU? Arkansas? Georgia?

We just blasted that team by 49, so I can understand them being lackadaisical. Hell, I wasn't even looking forward to watching the game, so I can completely understand them not being fully invested in playing it. Just one of those games to get through and move on.

Little annoyed that Dom Hawkins didn't get more run. Not sure what that kid needs to do b/c he was great in his limited minutes.

Cauley Stein was due for his mid season check out. Keeping fingers crossed that it only lasts a few games this season.

Can live with players not playing necessarily well while missing shots, having bad timing, maybe forcing things some. They all get out of rhythm here and there. Look at Booker last night. What I can't live with is lack of effort, energy and losing focus into the clouds.

Cauley Stein will snap out of it.

No excuse in letting that white dude go wild for 8 points or whatever. That dude wouldn't get picked up at the old Haggin Hall bball court.

Couldn't care less about seeing snow at this point...got my mind on March

...but if it's gonna happen, Super Bowl Sunday is about as perfect as it gets for our annual tradition of not doing anything, with anyone -- cooking up a few wodie appys, having a few drinks, and watching some marginal expensive commercials while pretending to be "interested" for at least a quarter.

Hanky Pankies & some Smoked Wings look to be on tap for this year. No ketchup. Email me your super secret extra gumby blue cheese/buffalo wing sass, Anth. Thx!

Yeah, you and BKH are still wrong about the whole tempo argument and maximizing possessions. However, where I think you may have a point is that teams need to try to play uptempo in order to score before we are set. If you can score in transition, you are much better off. But again, it's not a possessions thing. But simply shooting early in the shot clock in order to maximize possessions will get you beat pretty soundly. More possessions = more fouls for you, and unless you have our depth your team will get more tired and have more guys foul out.

Basically teams need to score immediately if possible, and if not, pray that you are canning all your contested 3's and getting a ton of offensive boards when you miss. The on the other end, just foul the hell out of our guys and hope they don't call it. Also, try to be a team that our guys will overlook.

If you can't get down with one of these, refer to Anth's previous post. Been too long, Terry's Turf Club.

Been doing pretty well betting UK and teasing the line a couple points. Needed it last night (-15.5) thanks to some dickfingering and Willis' decision to fire an outlet pass on an offensive rebound. Ullis' last second layup tho...

Bruce, the co owner and manager of Saints, smokes their wings on his Big Green Egg on Saints' patio. Had them last Sat. Fng gumby.

He also smokes BBQ chicken soup on the BGE.

Yeah, that was pretty awesome. Up 20, then win by 16 with 3 straight turnovers-to-layups in the final 50 seconds.

Lost a $5 parlay (-17) and a $25 2nd half (-8) on that ****...which cost me $85 in potential winnings

Welcome to CBB Gambol, **** happens wayyyyyyyyyyy too often.

- I will say this about the Cats- this is about the best mid-range shooting team I've seen in awhile. Lyles is auto. Aaron is terrific off one bounce. Booker is wet anywhere. Same with Ulis. Andrew isn't bad.

- The Super Bowl sucks, but this is a pretty good match-up based solely on, you know, actual football. Should actually be a good game.

- There are plenty of places around here to watch sports, but there are few ideal places to catch a game you care about in a place where you don't have to worry about getting a table and the TV situation and the crowd and everything else. I'm thinking maybe Locals on 7th Street or Tavern On The Hill in Mt. Adams for the game tomorrow.

I look at it this way: If you're playing a team that is the best (maybe ever) in terms of giving up points per possession, minimizing your possessions is playing right into their hands. If you're only going to score 0.81 PPP or whatever it is, then you'd damn sure better try to get more possessions.

Possessions.

I was with you. It was fantastic AND it had bacon on it.

I'm a fan of bacon on burgers and pizza when I am in the mood for it.

Pizza… give me all the meats, onions, mushrooms and extra cheese.

* Mushroom & swiss is my go to burger, tho.

* The game was not a masterpiece last night, but I'll take the double digit dubya and advance.

* I think I'm gonna buy a Weber this spring. I can't justify buying a BGE at this point. I'd love one, tho.

* Do people from the South think Kentucky is southern? Parts of it definitely are. NKY is definitely midwest. Lex and south seem southern to me. Louisville seems to be a mix of Midwest and the South.

* If snow scares all of the in-laws away on Sunday, I will have a ton of leftover food.

* I had a near perfect week of working out and eating and actually gained 0.1 lbs. Weird.

Of course, when you are this FAT! your weight fluctuates by 5-10 lbs. every time you take a dump.

Stay the course.

* Big Friday night of hanging curtain rods on tap for this guy tonight. Hopefully I'll stay awake long enough to watch 2 Justifieds and an Americans.

This team is so good it doesn't matter how they play us. Slow it down and grind it out, we'll smother you into submission. Speed it up and you risk getting blasted by 50.

I keep hearing analysts say you have to hit 10 threes to beat UK. I think it's more like 15, and we have to have an off night. If we play well offensively and defensively, it really doesn't matter what anyone else does because they aren't winning no matter what style the game is played. Plus, this team doesn't tighten up in close games.

That's one of the best I've had, can't remember what the method was. Sucker was great though.

-Walkabout Cauley-Stein.

-Completely agree with BKH and whoever said we're just as responsible for mucking it up. I think we're just content to do it though. Odds are, you're not going to score enough to beat us.

-Running with us is also playing with fire, it may be the only way you can score enough BUT you could also get run by 30+.

-
@ Boogie calling Clay Travis out for a text from 5 years ago saying he'd be arrested in the next 5 years. God, I love that guy. Hope after his career he moves back to Lex and takes over the Skywalker role. He'd be great Lexington loves that guy.

-Superbowl = Wings, Jalapeno poppers, probably some type of dip.

-Currently reading 'The Short and Tragic Life of Robert Peace.' I know how it ends, but so far it's really really good.

I think Lyles is being underutilized. I almost forget he is on the team until he hits an 18 footer. Its not his fault though as its just a result of so much talent on the floor. I think he could shoulder more plays being run for him.

That rejection on Booker seemed to really shake him. I guess it happens he was just so weak with the ball last night.

Lass has a friend coming in from Owensboro with her boyfriend.

Got shut down on Hammerhead's again. She's not down with me getting lost on the way and waiting for a table at that dungeon bar. To me
that's part of the experience. Could eat at that joint weekly.

May give Roux a try.

Yep. Bucks is a damn charming restaurant. Perhaps the most so in Louisville. Filet with blue cheese is outstanding but all of it is excellent IMO. Old Louisville is still weird as touch to me but that place is a throwback. Enjoy.

-I like ketchup on my burgers. So sue me. And bacon too.

And I like to dip my pizza in stuff like buffalo sauce, ranch and more marinara. I'm just a dipper when it comes to food.

-During the under 8:00 in the 2nd half, we switched to the "Angriest UK fan" video because Gene hadn't seen it. Missed part of the game just waiting for him to say, "GD, was that a Harrison?" That man is hilarious. I would like a video of him in happy times as well and see how he reacts.

-Trying to decide what to add to the chicken wings and poppers for Sunday. Of course I'm inclined to add some sort of vegetable.

Nice little surprise, lassy sent me lunch from Middle Eastern place. Gyero, lentil soup, hummus

If there is one food in this world I can't stand, it's blue cheese. No problem with goat cheese though, actually like it.

So there is some chance Boogie could sneak into the Allstar game because of an injury?

Not as much underutilized as it is misused and playing out of position.

As it is with AP, Lyles is a college 4. His skills don't really come out when he's hovering out the perimeter. He needs to be catching the ball at the high post versus zones would be extremely effective on the block versus man2man.

It's sad/funny/amazing/whathaveyou he's really our best post player but he doesn't even play the position while our oversized bigs clutter the lane fumbling passes, throwing up lasers off the rim, getting stripped etc...

Having all this talent is lolz crazy and all but it's a huge bummer to me these kids don't get a chance to use it the way they should be.

Lyles as a primary 4? Lol. If he'd been playing there since day one, I'm guessing by now he'd be our best player. TS.

Major props to Devin for attempting it, though. Guarantee he was looking for a play like that from the moment he checked in. Was just pushing a bit too hard, and it was 100% predictable. God I love him.

I think Bricker was trying a little too hard to be respectful and to not go into Dukie Prick Mode, and that affected his game. He's at his best when he's being a butthole.
