And you know this ... how, exactly? Of course they hired a young dude -- who do you think knows the most about IT these days? It certainly isn't old farts like us. As for whether this guy who claims to have her e-mails is legitimate, I vote NO, unless he was part of her tech team and had access to the server before it was handed over to the FBI or he's part of the FBI team now going over it, in which case his *** would be grass. I think it's more likely that he's trying to cash in on stuff that Gawker stole from Sid Blumenthal's AOL account, which was already made public. It can. They hired a young dude to set up the new big server in the first place, the one getting ready to plead the 5th. It was a done on the cheap operation, not carefully thought out and secured.

What do you do for a living? I bet you'd be pissed if somebody made a baseless blanket statement about your career field and claimed you didn't know anything about your own job. The security guy in question happens to be a contractor, does that automatically make him more qualified than if he were civil service? Didn't think so. And it turns out I was right, all the scam artist hacker has is stuff that was already out there:He went to state with her as IT staff
I don't know what he's doing now, but I'm pretty certain it's not FBI. I forgot an "In my opinion".
In my opinion, he's a proverbial government employee. He knows less about security than I do. And no, it's not my experience that the young one's know more and are better than the older developers/administrators.
