Don't believe this is actually true. Wasn't actually Liam. Represented him (BB) as a child I believe.
Ah, good to know, I should have fact-checked it but it was all over social media and unlike I normally do, I assumed it was true without fact-checking it. But for the haters, here's the proof that you actually do go after both sides. ;-)

I wasn't familiar with his music and it's not my thing but I still thought it was cool. Surprise performers in Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin. I'll echo JJ Watt

We hosted a Super Bowl party, so I was a bit distracted, and only managed to watch about five minutes of it. I speak Spanish pretty fluently, but conversational Spanish and Spanish when sung are two different things. I only understood about half of what he was singing. Politics aside, I am not a fan of his music, which has very little in the way of melody. It sounds more like a guy rapping to a back beat, and a bunch of dancing around and grabbing at his crotch. But I'm age 68, so that surely has a lot to do with it.

I couldn't care less what his politics are and I didn't know his music before last night but I was interested to hear it for myself. I agree with you, the music wouldn't be described as melodic and his voice is nothing special either. It was just meh for me and that's fine as I'm sure I'm not his target audience anyway. But I love how all the hand-wringing beforehand turned out to be a complete nothingburger and there wasn't anything overtly political or subversive, unless you consider themes of Love trumps Hate and Together we are all Americans as controversial.

I agree with your sentiment. I don't see how singing entirely Spanish says we're all Americans. The most universal language we have here is English.

So Cheeto doubled down on his post depicting the Obamas as apes. Awesome. His racism is so simplistic and obvious that it makes HIM a target, and an easy target at that. It leaves you wondering, among other things why he couldn't have couched his racism in a more subtle and comedic way. And $50 says there's no way Cheeto could come up with the names of those famous apes (Koko, Harambe, and Bear) on his own. He couldn't even recall the name of Eastwood's orangutan friend. ("Right turn, Clyde!")

I had seen it as well all over the place, but as that would've been a pretty big FU, made sure to read the comments lol

Yeah, my gf teaches middle school Spanish and she can't understand him either, even if she loved the show, beat, everything else.

And they wonder why the Olympians want to distance themselves from our current political climate, lol. Unless you speak against it, the rest of the world assumes we agree with him since he was elected twice.

I'm usually more careful but for the record, I don't mind being called out because I always aim to get it right. Unlike the other side, I'm not embarrassed to say I got it wrong and I'll try to do better instead of doubling down on it or ignoring it.

That makes me feel a little better, I guess ... my boys, together, have accumulated a number of years of studying Spanish in HS, and I asked them what he was saying and they had no clue. I just thought they were dummies. Then again, despite studying German, I never had a clue what actual German-speaking people were saying in casual conversation, unless they hit on some basic phrase we had actually hammered home.

My coworker is from Mexico, he has said in the past he likes Bad Bunny, but has no clue what he's saying. The accent and slang are purely Puerto Rican. Its like an American trying to understand Scottish rap, aint no way.
