(edit) WOULD LOVE to see DH back on the field, in Scarlet, next year, but I have 3 thoughts:

1) is this just a "ploy" to get everyone to back Fudd (I doubt it we all know DH likes him a lot all good here...)

2) what does he do if/when Fudd is fired?

3) is he paying attention to LC's final year OTB?

(btw - it doesn't give me much more hope, for next year, sorry. Our schedule is a whopper!)

We're better with him than without him. He's bigger and when he's healthy, he'll give it everything he has. His statement was pretty clear about a situation if Flood does not come back.

Of course we're "better," however, I'm not going to bother other than saying we've got big issues next year..maybe bigger than this season...bottom line and especially if Fudd is HC.

Also, I don't know, reading his comments I would say playing FOR Flood is definitely a priority, so we'll see.

If Flood is fired he might just graduate and become a grad transfer at another school

This like everything else will become about firing Flood. (see above)

To be fair, posts in the past have stated that many players -- including Hamilton -- would only be back if Flood was. So, these comments have merit.

Hamilton's decision is the best news we've had in football in a long time. Thank you, young man!

Not from what he said today. It can't always be the first or only thought.

You know what my first thoughts were? It was that Hamilton back along with the play of Wilkins/Joseph would likely make RU's DT rotation better than we've seen since Foster/Meekins. That it not only enhances the depth of the position but puts a leader in the middle of the very young D. That his proven ability to penetrate the LOS makes the outside pass rush better. That RU may have a position for a year here they don't need to play green, young players.

You know, football stuff without the Flood hysteria.

I don't know why you eve bothered. Even the slightest good news gets beat down.

My friend - it's a Rutgers Football message board - would you rather us talk about our favorite WPIX Thanksgiving Day Weekend movies? Best Halloween candy? Big boobs (no, not me...)?

Good to hear. He said he is coming back no matter what. Of course kids change their minds all of the time but this is a nice endorsement for RU when we are in much need of positive news.

Nuts, obsess much? Sorry Flood dissed you man but that was a year ago. Time to get over it. It's not like our schedule changes if he gets fired so what is even your point?

Having Hamilton makes us much, much better on D. He will be a force in the middle and this gives us a lot of flexibility with JPO who can now move around like Milewski did last year. We probably can get to the QB with 4 instead of blitzing and we do have athletic guys to drop in coverage if we do want to be aggressive. Everybody gets better when he is on the field just like our Offense with Carroo this year.

You know what else gives me hope? Look at what we did to UNC last year and now they are a Top 20 team. Look at Temple. One year can make a huge difference. I agree that our biggest hurdle is our schedule. No doubt that makes it very challenging for us. But we went from stomping UNC to a sputtering mess in one season. There is also the possibility that some teams on our schedule are not nearly as good next season. Any Sr QB's out there on the opposing teams? Yes. That means a whole helluva lot. See Oregon this year vs last year. See RU as mentioned. It goes on an on and on. That's the beauty of College FB. We can hope for better days ahead.

I've got no problem with the last one lol. I'd never call you a boob. Whether or not I agree, you've always got my respect.

That said, it can't always be about Flood. As you said this is a football board. It's not a Kyle Flood board. I commented how I think it helps RU next year. Whether or not you or anyone agrees with my thoughts would be a football discussion on a football board, no?

I was talking about posts made by people on this message board. He may have mentioned the idea himself, but I think some people were more hopeful that he was talking about the need to bring Flood back.

I still maintain that most players -- and especially upper classmen -- realize that coaching changes are sometime necessary and the idea that they are guaranteed to graduate with the coaches that recruited them is a fairytale, one I think they understand.

Especially one who's Dad had been thru the wars for so long? Don't know about Pitt but he had to have several with the G-Men.

I was worried he would wait to see if flood was coming back

It would be great if he plays next season for RU.
Sad to say I can't think of any other D linemen on our roster that is above average.
