Congrats to Hammond. I read last week how Sterling Hammond had another defensive TD that was the highlight of a big win for VU. He had several quotes in the Richmond paper.
Hammond was a joy to watch play the game. He hit like a tank - with crazy field vision.
1) I remember the greatest high school game I ever observed - Hammond and Co. battled then powerhouse 3A James Monroe- lost in 40 - 37 OT thriller in Fredericksburg to the Miracle of Maury Stadium.
(it was so bad and controversial from what I hear not too many Miracles happened again at ole Maury Staudium after that wild one....).
