the pinnacle of virtue. Whatever, the man had an opinion, right or wrong, and shared it with an unrelated, conservative news source, and the most liberal gutless Disney owned network canned his song on their intro just like the caved on Ron Franklin. That, despite the fact, that Franklin could run circles around 99% of the rest of ESPN's football announcers.

All that said, upon receiving the news regarding this decision, Williams was quoted as saying, "I'd like to spit some Beechnut in that dude's eye, shoot'im with my ole 45 because a country boy can survive."

I don't care for Obama either but that was the redneck in Hank to compare him to Hitler. That is a bit extreme and dumb to do on national TV... or anywhere for that matter.

Obama may be an elitist turd but to say he is the same as the world's greatest mass murderer is ridiculous.

Any network would have fired anybody with similar comments, as they should. It's 17'ing stupid. I wouldn't say ESPN is very liberal at all, either.

They are major libs... I could go on and on with examples, but I won't get the thread locked.

Hank Williams Jr. said something stupid. He's been saying stupid stuff forever and they still havent taken him off. I hate suppression of opinion no matter what news outlet it is, and ESPN is the worlds worst at this.

don't condone or agree with comparing anyone, especially a president, to Hitler. Just want to make sure that part of my post wasn't misunderstood. That said, the rest of what I said, I stand behind and we will have to agree to disagree. I just hate how when someone says something slightly controversial and is a known conservative there is an immediate rush to judgement and major effort to distance yourself from the politically incorrect guy. That was more my point...just seems like a double standard sometimes. Regardless, you are right in that it was stupid of him to say. That we agree on. Just cracks me up that ESPN yanks a song over it.

I missed the intro....what did they replace it with?

between expressing your political opinion, and comparing the president to Hitler.

The liberal morons in hollywood and rap music did the same thing to Bush, now the conservative morons think it's their turn to act like retards too.

Political rhetoric over the past 10 years has gone way beyond expressing your opinions.

are the ones thinking he was actually comparing Obama to Hitler. How do you know he was saying Obama was Netanyaho??? It may the comparison to contrast how different the two (Obama and Boehner) are. Anyone who thinks he was actually comparing the 2 are absolute idiots who have to have things spelled out, but then again, I've come to expect that from some on here.
And it's funny how entertainers can say what they want until it's against a liberal...

conservatives to Nazis too? Now that is an absolute disgrace to what Jews and other victims of Nazis went thru. There IS no misunderstanding that comparison either.

Later in the Fox interview with Williams, anchor Gretchen Carlson
told Williams he used the name of one of history's most hated men to
describe the President.

"Well that's true. But I'm telling you like it is," Williams said.

is the same as any sponsor pulling their affiliation with a controversial athlete. Business is business and a white man from Tennessee comparing our black president to the worst dictator this world has known doesn't sit well with a certain percentage of the population. As it shouldn't. Hank left ESPN no choice.

Obama did have a white mother lest we all forget like some have. But that's neither here nor there.
Again, the comparison is weak. People just looking to get their panties in a wad. Maybe Cobra Commander vs Duke would have been a comparison that wouldn't have been so bad.
Anyway, Hank isn't upset, I can guarantee you. He's living the life in Paris, TN, but he'll soon be moving here. He called asking for places to live.***

But in this politically correct, pussified world they almost have to. I wish they didn't either, but I think any one of us in the same position would.

I'd love to know what your conservative thoughts of what that constitutes. And I call your bluff if you, a "republican", think a Republican would do worse than what Obama has done. You are either lying or sadly don't know what a republican is.

savaged the Catholic church and denigrated Jesus. "Offend a billion people? No problem. Just give a half apology and move on. Free speech y'know."

ThenBryant Gumble thinks the Today showhas gone to commerical andcalls a defender of theBoy Scouts (on the no homosexual issue)"a 17ing idiot." Gumble didn't even have to go through the motions of an apology. "Free speech y'know."

I haven't voted Republican since 1992 butno one should give"the door swings both ways" routine. It doesn't.
