This is the type of misinformation that MAGA puts out regarding the SAVE act. The requirement isn't just to present an ID to vote. Most people would be fine with that. The requirement is that you present proof of citizenship either a passport or original copy of a birth certificate. A passport would be the easiest form to present but only half the county has passports and that skews to the more wealthy half of the country. The act would become law immediately so half the country would have to scramble to make sure they have a proper birth certificate. In reality the SAVE act is a voter suppression law to reduce voter turnout for the poor by making it more difficult to vote. The popular argument is that you need an ID to buy alcohol or cigarettes so why not require an ID to vote. Well you don't need a passport to buy alcohol do you?
