Which bourbon will you be imbibing?

I'm more of a beer drinker, but I'll honor this all important holiday. I think I have some Bulleit left over from a bachelor party. If not it'll be George Dickel White Label which I keep at the house specifically for Father Cochise (about the only damn thing he'll drink if given a choice.)

ETA: It's also Flag Day. So poor a drink and wave your flag.

Makers Mark: Lemon Mint Juleps

It's hot down here on the coast, so I'm celebrating National Bourbon Day in a refreshing way. Ribs will be going on the grill in a few hours with the TV plugged up outside to watch the Braves game while kicked back on the patio.

Jim Beam Black

I can only assume the Black is better than regular, my grandmother used to say, "If you want to quit drinking, start drinking Jim Beam. Rot gut in a fancy bottle."
Also when I lived in Athens, those guys called it "The Helmet." I never found out exactly why. It was either due to the hangover, or the activities of the night would require a helmet.

Not that it really matters but Dickel is Tennessee Whiskey, not really bourbon. We are doing the Bourbon trail this weekend so trying 7 different bourbons for the holiday.

Didn't realize the industry created its own holiday. But I was celebrating nonetheless--Evan Williams Single Barrel (2002).

Next up, Dickel.

What about the EW green label? Somebody gave me a bottle but haven't tried it.
