Not rated, and offers from Bowling Green, Bethune Cookman, Memphis, and Delaware St. He's listed at 6' 6'' 280 pounds. Not really much else to say. I can't imagine he is going to come in and compete at LT unless there is something I'm missing here. Anyone know much else about him?

If we're handing out spots like this, then we must not have a good feeling about the other O-linemen on our board.

Maybe it's for next year?

ETA, it's apparently for this year. I really hope we know a few of our commitments are going to be grades casualties becaue we're filling up pretty quickly.

We can count 3 spots back to last year forplayerswho will enroll inJanuary. (Senior is one of them. The two JUCO OT and Audry and Jacbos will all enroll in Jan too)<div>That leaves 4 normal sports and 2 last year spots.</div><div>So 6 more players. (2 have to be Jan-enroll)</div>

and can sign a total of 28 I believe because of having 3 spots left for early enrollees to go against last year's 25. Basically we have 5 spots left and at least one of those has to be a mid-year signee (we have at least 2 now in Holley and Senior). Really only 4 spots left though for traditional HS signees, ie. those not graduating in December, and that's not many considering how many big fish are still out there.

and then ***** about commitments and speculate that most of our OL on hand can't cut it. We've got several that redshirted and then others like Trapp who is said to be a failure.

At least that is my understanding. I just don't see how we can honor those commitments with the current rules on scholly limits. I heard the 2 guys were Walley and Ducksworth - but please correct me if I am wrong. And I hate suggesting that for those guys, but you can blame it on the new rule. <div>
</div><div>This one is another curious commitment. I am all for using schollys on project OLs to just get as many as you can to see what you can develop, but it makes me worry about our plan and/or chances with the remaining players on the board. Also, if we truly can only sign 3 to count back and we are still waiting on Beard/Siddoway/Autry/Jacobs, this isnt a good sign. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

I just worry about the numbers in the class. But I don't think anyone outside of the staff has a good idea of what the real numbers are so I'll just leave that up to Mullen and Co.

and his offers are marginal so skepticism is probably warranted because Trapp showed up out of nowhere late last year with a similar situation (except that he was JUCO) and so far he's been a bust. So you would like to give our coaches the benefit of the doubt here but past history makes it difficult to do so.

And we can count 3 back, but that doesn't mean we can only have three early enrollers. We can have as many as we want.

that people are worried about seeing unknown commitments at this point in the game. If our staff takes a commitment in September from a commit with no offers, it's pretty clear the staff made a judgment that he was good and think other people are missing on a guy.

When we take a commitment in December from a guy that just popped up on our radar, it's still possible our staff saw something they liked, but it's also possible that they know they're striking out on Plan A's and B's, and have to move on the Plan C's and D's.

That said, the fact that he's 17 (the age, not the expletive), makes me feel a little more hopeful that the staff just discovered a promising project late in the game. That's how we should build our offensive line when we can't lock down blue chip prospects. It's just worrisome that we need immediate help from OT and DE and it looks like we don't have enough spots to take the JUCO guys we need and the top highschool guys we are still (hopefully) competitive for.

if we end up with more than 3 mid-year enrollees then the excess will just sign in February and count toward this year's allotment of 25.

There are plenty of spots available for these types of players. We just need to land a few, that should be the concern. If they commit, we'll make room.

like Jelks and Hill and I guess we just aren't that interested in Gaines so taking this guy does make some sense if we want another HS lineman. Only other HS OL I've heard us mentioned with lately is Michael Flint and I don't know what our mutual interest level is there. Most of the other big fish in HS still out there are either defensive guys or QBs.

Kid is 6'-6'', 305, with an 82'' wingspan, turns 18 next summer. If he has any drive/technique at all he could be a huge O Linemen for us in the next few years.

if he has that much potential why does he not have any decent offers? Its not like Hargrave players don't get seen regularly. That place is a recruiting hotbed.

"Academically, he's a smart kid with a 3.2 GPA and 1120 on the SAT. He wants to be a doctor," he said. "I tell you, when colleges came through and extended visits, he was too busy retaking the SAT and ACT and he didn't even need to. He just wanted to do it to improve his score."

that is from his coach ...from logan

see us picking up offensive linemen with brains, size, character, and potential. I'll take him.
