I don't buy those claims that Saban forces out players early. Just look at Chris Black. He was a top recruit in 2012 and barely played. Beyond the 3 starters, some of our WR's haven't developed into the players that the staff hoped they'd become. Yet, Chris Black was still on the roster, and he was on the team for 4 years. He decided to transfer for his 5th year because he wouldn't crack the starting rotation. Same with Raheem Falkins. He has been a bust, yet he's entering his 4th year on the team. He could have been "forced out" to make room for another blue-chip recruit, but he hasn't. Tyler Love, a 5-star OT recruit in 2008 and was a total bust. We were very thin at OT from 2009-2011, yet Love was on the team and ended up getting his degree. There are plenty of other examples, too.
To be consistent, I also don't buy the claims that Jimbo and Urban "force players out," and believe me, there are a ton of people who believe that they do, especially with Urban. I feel the same way about the claims that Calipari has "forced" players out (Dodson, Wiltjer, Harrow, etc.) to make room for more talented recruits down the line. People make him out to be the devil for not only that, but for constantly recruiting one-and-done players. Laughable.
