Decided to look at our coaching staff and see how many coaches did DM bring with him from FL. And looking at it I can see why we are not where we should be. Not only are we a young team, but check these coach's past jobs. Some of these guys have not been at a big time program. at all. So are retread that was here during some of our other bad years. And one guy has been a WR Grad Assist. and now is coaching our WR. So I will say this, great leaders are great because they surround themselves with great people. Dan can't do it all by himself but he need to surround himself with people that can coach and get the job done. And right now he does not have the right people around him. I mean Les Koenning is not a offensive genius, at Texas A & M they had a record of 4-8, 7-5, 5-6, 9-4, 7-6 and that was his last job before he went to South Alabama before leaving there before they could field a team. SO ALL I CAN SAY IS CMON MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am just curious how you can say that we are not where we are supposed to be? We are in year 3 of a new coaching staff, went 9-2 last year, have only lost to teams that have been ranked at some point this year, we have given the best two teams in the country their best games this year, and everyone we have lost to has a larger stadium, student population, state poplulation, and recruiting base than we do. I want to win a National Championship as much as anyone else, but saying that we are not where we should be is simply delusional. There is no magic formula to winning or super coach. Winning at the highest level is a product of doing the right things over an extended period of time. I feel we are doing those things and in time you will see us win at the highest level, but right now we are right on track. The media doesn't know how to evaluate talent. So if your opinion is based on a ranking they hand out, or disappointment they have in our program then you are simply listening to the wrong people.

Let me clear it up a little, we are not where we should be when it comes to offense. The Defense is young and inexperience especially our LB group, but they have done a great job. But when it comes to the offense we have regress and not progress. We have way too much talent on offense to not be able to move the ball and then get in the endzone. The defense has kept us in games but you have to score. I know that we have good talent, and just for the record I don't trust all those player rankings because that never tell the complete story and some are over inflated. Lastly, so this is out there from now and forever, even though I think Dan might need to make some changes, I am True Maroon and will never give up hope.

..am certain he is going to do his best to maintain his staff consistent with what we are willing to pay...and that he will make changes as he sees it needs to be done.

I can agree with that, money is always the main issue for us to attract coaches. I just hope that if he is going to have loyalty and keep them, then they should also and not pull a Manny when another school comes calling. If Boise can come from no where and be where they are and not have the talent that is in the SEC then we can be a consistent winning program, I'm not saying that we are going to win the SEC crown next year or the year after. But can we get to a consistent winning seasons. But again I am a Dawg Fan and I know that they will do it.

"Pull a Manny when another school comes calling"

How delusional are some of you people? Diaz left to become the defensive coordinator at Texas. That's a coaching top 5 program. That shows Mullen was bringing in the right coaches.

I just am amazed at how football ignorant some of these posts are. Why is our offense not scoring as much as last year? We have a line that was suspect at best at the start of the year that suffered injuries to key players. You can't coach a guy to be bigger and stronger than the guy he is lining up across from. We are playing a couple of guys on the offensive line at least a year earlier than we should. It doesn't matter what play is called or how many stars the running back has, if the line can't get a push and create a hole, the offense is going to struggle.

I'm just stating the facts, I want to see what your view will be in the long haul or if Mullen decides to leave. But make sure that you read again. I never said anyone should go, but made some points. Also I know that it will take time to be the top program that we want to see, this thread was a look where we stand and not calling for anyone's head like a lot of the other post do. I have the patience the question is do everyone else. As a long time 49ers, Braves, Bulldogs and Grizzle fan I know what it mean to be loyal. But what does it say about our society when there is no loyalty. One and Done huh. That is not what we need here at State and I hope that we will not be the case after this season either.
