Has anyone on this board actually had a face-to-face with the Genester?

My one time to talk to him he come off as a total tool and near-douche nozzle.

Absolutely ruined a good pregame at baseball game in 04.

I saw him and his wife on the elevator in the crown plaza before the Gator Bowl this year. They were in the process of packing up their car so they could leave after the game. I said "already leaving gene? the game hasn't even started". He didn't think it was funny. Under his breath he said "no we are going back after".

Now that I think about it he might have been ready to come home. Most reporters get down there a few days before the game. I also saw him before the Kentucky-MSU SEC basketball championship. He is now nothing but bad luck to me.

He called me a few years ago and that was a mistake. Matter o' fact, I was at

work and he called to question me on some info I had posted. Pretty well told me I didn't know what I was saying. Needless to say, he didn't like the way the conversation ended. A few days later, the news broke and I was indeed correct and instead of calling me to apologize, he sent me a message. 17 that dick head.

Nope only from the rear. Dim light. But that was when I was a five star recruit

Talked to him before the first ND game in our regional (sorry, can't remember the year but it was a long time ago). Seemed pretty nice at that time. Think he's gone a little wacko since then.

Yep, years and years ago. I ran into him at a midweek baseball game. So, not much of a crowd. I introduced myself and about one more sentence. I figured out quickly I was talking to an arrogant nerd.

I tried to talk to him once. But I couldn't get past the Napoleon Dynamite mullet, tight-rolled black jeans, fanny pack, & Top Gun sunglasses.
It was like auditioning for a low budget porno. His personality is like a cross between Gomer Pyle and Eb Dawson.

Used to run into him frequently in the late 1990's-early 2000's....

First time I met him in person was by the players lockerroom at Jordan-Hare before the 1999 Auburn game. Every time I've met him, he seemed genial enough, never gave off psycho vibes.....To be fair, maybe I was giving off psycho vibes.

I have and it's only fair to give him props for this.........Awesome

I believe it was my Junior or Senior yr. at State. My dad and I decided to meet up for some Hoops at the Hump last minute. I believe we were playing Kentucky and we were both ranked. It was a hard sell out and there were hardly any tickets to be found. What few were left were from the scalpers, I need not mention how outlandishly high those were. So Im walking around not far from tip off with two fingers held high to no avail. Then Gene approachs me (didnt know me from Adam) and said "let me see what I can do for ya, think I might be able to help". Well I thought that was the last time I'd see him. Little to my surprise as we decide to give up the search, Gene literally ran us down as we were headed away from the Hump. He hands me two tickets, wouldn't take a dime for em' and says, "y'all go enjoy the game"'! Say what you will......but THAT was a cool way for us to look after our Bulldog brethren.

Took pictures for the Reflector so I was around him from time to time, usually at baseball games. He was always a nice a guy

As I was walking out of the stall in the bathroom I saw him, said "Just dropped a deuce in there brah, but there's a 7 day free trial if you go in." I laughed

Met him at a tailgate in the late 90s. Seemed OK ... my opinion of him is pretty neutral.

Me and a buddy picked him up in our rental car in Eugene, OR on gameday am. We were headed back to the team hotel and he was walking, (a good distance from htl) ---said he had gotten turned around and basically was lost. He rode on back to hotel with us.
Seemed ok enough at the time. (should have left his *** there)

I've never met him in person, but I did call him when he was requiring us to call him and give our "real names" to let us back on the board. I called and gave him the name of one of my friends, his major, etc. I knew the idiot had no way of verifying that I gave him my "real name" or even if I actually attended Mississippi State. He let me back on the board.

Yesterday, I was thinking that I should stop hating him for banning me over that Roy McLain ****. Although I was right and Roy McLain was wrong. Heck, most of us were right and knew Roy McLain didn't know what the hell he was talking about. I need to let it go. That was a long time ago.

Funny thing is, a couple of years ago, I sent Gene a PM asking if he would apologize to me for banning me over that (just messing with him). Believe it or not, he told me that he would apologize if I told him my ... real name. smh
