I apologize for going off sports topic but most of the reviews have been less than flattering and I was wondering if it was any good before I spend money on it.

and have heard that most critics declined on giving it good reviews. But I have a buddy that is a self-proclaimed "movie guru" who saw it and said that it was much better than he thought it was going to be. He said that the critics were way off.

Doubt that helps.

the movie is definitely not a classic .. needs to be more action and less acting, much less acting. the special effects and action scenes are pretty awesome though, which makes it acceptable, even better, to see in theatres. w/out the action scenes and special effects, i would have been disappointed that i wasted the $15. the plot is rather clever, just executed poorly ..

if you are a special effects and action junkie, then it's worth to see in theatres. if not, wait for the rental

besides the plot being a little predictable, I enjoyed it. 4/5
Nail on head. You expected what was coming, but it was still a good movie. It wouldn't be a waste of money if you went to see it. I might not would buy it when it came out, though.

I was a little let down was b/c I had a buddy tell me it was unbelievable. It was still pretty good to me cause I am a huge geek when it comes to sci-fi. I have no idea how it would come across to a non-nerd like me.

definitely not as good as the other three but if you liked the other ones you'll probably like this one. My movie going experience was hampered however by some idiots who brought their newborn baby into the movie and by the fact that Gene Swindoll was sitting two rows in front of me.

If you ever see the name McG attached to any movie I recommend you do NOT go see it. We're talking about the same guy who directed Charlie's Angels...

The rehashing of a John Connor in a Christian Bale is ridiculous enough... I have indeed NOT seen this movie nor has it crossed my mind to even think about seeing it. Don't waste your money on a movie that got beat out by Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian...

Let's get real.

Loathed Terminator Salvation. Really it's that bad. Everything that made Cameon's two films great has been shredded. The acting was deplorable. The script was laughable and a couple of times the editing made me wonder what I had just missed. Save your money or go see Star Trek again. At least Abrams can make a movie so entertaining that you forgive him for the plot holes and breaks from what is even remotely possible.

That..... Or simply wait for Bay's Transformers!

I would recommend staying away from Michael Bay as well... He's just as bad or worse than McG. Instead of making a real movie lets just animate the whole thing with CGI... Michael Bay and McG are miserable... Stay away from their garbage...

Plus Armageddon wasn't horrible, and The Rock was pretty decent. Bad Boys was good. Michael Bay has had some success.

I saw it and enjoyed it. If you are into the Terminator series definitely go see it. Else it will go right over the top of your head.

and I wasn't that impressed with his more recent movies to the point that I didn't see Transformers when it was released.</p>

NOT worth movie admission prices. It's an ok action flick, but the plot is pretty predictable and boring.

Go see Star Trek if you haven't yet. Even non trekkies will enjoy it, women included. It's simply a solid origins movie. Reminded me a lot of Batman Begins.

I wanted to see more war scenes between the T series terminators and the humans. I could have watched 2 hours of just battle scenes if they were produced like they were in the first two movies. All the acting and plot lines kind of cheesed me out. Worth seeing it in the theater though if you are a fan.

.....not only understood the importance of great action sequences, but also the importance of great pacing, acting, script, and even down to things like musical score. James Cameron can direct a great one too, but unfortunately he just mostly lives off his profits from Titanic these days.

For those who liked the first Transformers movie and subsequently will go see the sequel, I can only say it's probably due to fanboyism derived from playing with Transformers as a kid. Otherwise, I'd see no reason to waste two+ hours of your life on a Michael Bay movie. He can shoot the hell out of a CGI action sequence(did I mention I HATE CGI?), but the rest of what truly makes a movie great is almost always lacking in his direction.

And as far as Cameron's concerned, I'm looking forward to seeing Avatar when it comes out later this year.</p>

I loved T2 and would not go near anything Star Trek. It puts T3 to shame. I still can't believe they screwed that one up so bad.

...you actually want to see Angels and Demons? I havn't seen it, but I can still spare you the money by telling you that I very rarely see movies get their *** ripped as hard as this one has by the reviewers. Supposedly it's twice as bad as The Da Vinci Code which was terrible. Also, if you've read the book you know how absolutely idiotic and far-fetched the ending is.</p>

I would def rather see T-Salvation than Angels and Demons.</p>

and I enjoyed both of them. The end of the book is a little implausible, but they do a good job of correcting it in the movie. The book (in my opinion) is much better than the Da Vinci Code. The movie is about on the same level as DVC.

I can safely say Angels & Demons (which was published before DaVinci Code) is a much better book. I didn't see the movie version of (and still haven't seen) DaVinci Code because the book wasn't great. Angels & Demons, on the other hand, is something I might want to see-- if only because the book was pretty good.
