Ah, so this is going to happen every time we get a good recruit I guess? First it was Diamond Stone, now Haskins.

I'm not naive enough to think that MD is not using Under Armour to it's advantage (as it should), but it's a ridiculous claim with absolutely zero proof that UA is flat out offering full-time job to the parents of big-time recruits.

Ok smart guy. You tell me next year when Haskins suits up for UMD where his dad works. If it's not Under Armor in an office job, come here for an apology. If it is, come here and tell me you bought him.

IMbad- you say you are a Rutgers fan and NJ guy and you work at PSU...Believe me, I get that and respect that everyone needs to go where the work is.

But it leads me to ask...what state are you committed to?

RU has had parents of players work here - Shea, Cubit, Stringer for instance.

Says he committed to the state. Sort of suggests that he played Rutgers as the PSU FB player told me the other day.
Explain how he "played RU" if we still ended up with an elite 11 QB. Your logic is flawed. Even if he strung us out, it didn't do anything at all. It's not like we missed out on who we wanted. We still got a very highly rated QB.

Just wow! OK, thats why I wear my Rutgers gear all over campus and all over town and take the abuse from PSU fans. Yeah, I'm a PSU fan.

You never have anything positive to say about RU. You Bring up PSU in almost every OP you start. Those OPs almost always say Rutgers X PSU X + 1 or PSU says X about RU "insert negative event here".

Listen; I know you will deny it til you die. You probably truly believe you are a Rutgers fan. I know plenty of people just like you who are Rutgers or Jets "fans" who find more satisfaction in bashing incompetencies or playing up the mantra of losing culture on a regular basis rather than having an open discussion of the realities of the state of the program absent of your normal negative tone.

I just call it how I see it. And many if not most here agree. By all means carry on. I'll continue to contribute by setting the perspective of which your OP and other comments undoubtedly originate from.

I feel ya RUsojo. But, there is no question that I am critical. There is a lot about Rutgers athletics and Barchi that pisses me off. I think they are squandering an enormous opportunity with the B10 by NOT acting like a big boy program, not taking a financial hit now by spending what they need to for a big boy coach and staff, so as to receive a huge payoff athletically and academically. Because lets face it, superior athletics, brings in better students, more alumni money, and better faculty, who then bring in more research $$$$$. These things are all intertwined. We are constantly penny wise and pound foolish. Yes, it pisses me off so much that I cannot hide it. I'm glad when we win and it tears my gut when we lose.

So, he teaches at PSU with Rutgers stuff on. PSU players come to him with all kinds of inside info dissing Rutgers. He quickly posts this on our site as gospel.
Who do you think is really getting played.

It's a great reaction. We'd be fawning if it was one of ours that was a star recruit and that definitive :)

Still does not mean a lot at this point. He may end up signing with Maryland in February or he may not.

Agree about baddie trying to play this board.
IBRU made sure it posted that it wouldn't be wearing RU gear when Rutgers went to play the Nits this year.
Claimed some BS about what was going on with RU FB embarrassed it

Trolls will make up stories about themselves, sometimes weaving some amounts of truth into their lies in order to make fans think it is one of them and not a troll .
This way it's bashes will be accepted more easily and when confronted have some forum members defending it as one of them .

The Deceptive or "Classic" Troll category fits ImBadRU to a T, in my opinion

Actually he's a pretend Rutgers fan that works at PSU and trolls the board with his lame posts.

well, I'm a psu fan , and i'll tell you what I think is a conflict of interest involving Maryland or at least what they want to happen and that is an IMG academy pipeline. Under Armour is a premiere sponsor of IMG academy (look at the undecided 4 star area kids that go there now) and while the kids are by and large probably going to "other" big time programs , I find it hard to believe that they aren't getting the "company line" in hopes of netting just a few. Recent IMG defensive backs coach , Cory Robinson , was just hired this year as Maryland football's director of player personnel. I think these glorified all star teams are going to be an issue someday as more and more will pop up and will serve as a means for some big time program to segregate elite high school talent away from their competition

Good point. People love ignoring the fact that Russo held a commitable offer the whole time. The fact that he waited until after Haskins committed actually further indicates Rutgers wasn't played.

The whole thing is a laugh. Of course Haskins was a Maryland lean from the beginning. He came right out and said it. I don't even know what it means to get "played" by a recruit. Rutgers never stopped recruiting its other targets, Guarantano and Russo, and Rutgers always knew he was a Maryland lien. Not sure why Haskins would waste his own time if he wasn't considering Rutgers.

Saying Rutgers was played is just a derogatory way to say we recruited him. Thats really all recruiting is. Not sure why OP is so bent on convincing everyone that Haskins embarrassed Rutgers in some way.
