The one thing Shea could do better than any other RU coach was develop QBs. Even Fridge. It paid off that year.
Wow , you couldn’t be more wrong . Mcmahon was great . But shea didn’t do a good job of protecting him and he was hurt a lot.
Shea had some of the worst quarterbacks rutgers has ever seen……I can mention them if you want . They Stunk
Greg's initial 1.0 mistake was not having Schwenk start his first year due to Cubit & his kid. The kid wasn't ready to play for a poor team, but I will always credit Ryan Cubit for the way he played in the Tennessee game (where we were screwed by SEC officials). I was there an we had a blast until the 2nd half.
If McMahon was great then Shea developed him, which actually began at a QB camp that Shea ran and ,Mahon attended after his junior year in HS
I said shea developed him …but he almost got him killed.
He had one good quarterback here and the rest of them were awful . Wimsatt looks like an all-American compared to those guys

He gets credit for mcmahon. He also gets the blame for the other slop
I was at Michie Stadium when he was inserted in the 2nd qtr.. I believe that was game 4 or 5 his freshman year. He started the rest of that year and the other 3 when he was not injured.
