I'm guessing we shattered it.

I think calling us a top 15 program is a bit of a stretch.

but he's evidently pissing on recruits' mothers' coffee tables during visits.

I can think of no other explanation.

That's what I'm basing it on.

yeah it will hard to duplicate but we had about as much positive momentum heading into the recruiting stretch as we could possible muster less losing Diaz/Hud.

This was while we were away during the dead period winning a bowl game.

I'm no good at sales personally so maybe I don't have the ability to understand this but what do you have to do to close with recruits who have already committed assuming every thing is above board? We had a really good class committed at one time so no one can say Mullen can't recruit. We beat expectations on the field and closed out the season for the second year in a row with the perception that we're on the rise and next year expectations are we'll be an even better team. Yes, losing two coaches would be expected to set us back a little but not dramatically, assuming that everyone is recruiting by the same rules. So seriously, other than continuing to communicate with your committed recruits that you're excited about them joining the program what should a coaching staff do to avoid this scenario, while operating within the NCAA rules?

Regardless, while obviously it would be better to sign these guys I don't think that the way this one class is shaping up will send us back to the 2001-2008 era.

Yep, definitely a top 15 program. Give us another year with a solid season and we will start seeing more kids looking at us as a school to reckon with. Chill the 17 out already.

Dan is not going to tell a recruit what he wants to hear just for the sake of getting a player. He's not going to promise a guy a starting spot on day one. He is going to promise that they work their *** off and earn what they get.

Guys want to hear that they will play and are better than anyone else. It's like Croom telling somebody they couldn't play QB. Tell the guy he can play QB and get him on campus.
