My mid season, mark pope will be getting booed at Rupp Arena on a regular basisBy mid season Hawthorne will be much improved.
Nothing will change! Kentucky isn’t talented! The only person to blame is mark pope! Kentucky Wildcats are becoming the Kentucky Hoosiers, coach by mark poope! This is true. Kam needs to get his butt on the court.
That was his fourth foul, so one more foul and he wouldn't hit the clutch shot that tied.Truth. Easy fix, I hope. He's just got to realize we have zero guard depth and can't put himself or the team in that position.
Exactly. His 4th foul, 85 feet from the basket, making a play I'd chew my 7 yr olds a** for making. I'm just glad it was his 4th and not his 5th.That was his fourth foul, so one more foul and he wouldn't hit the clutch shot that tied.
Didn’t he also blatantly push a player on the drive Potter got a block? Was that him too or did I dream that up?Exactly. His 4th foul, 85 feet from the basket, making a play I'd chew my 7 yr olds a** for making. I'm just glad it was his 4th and not his 5th.
I remember the play. I want to say it was, but I'm not 100% on that. It was either him or Mason.Didn’t he also blatantly push a player on the drive Potter got a block? Was that him too or did I dream that up?
Blocking shots is his gig right now to me. Asking a guard to shoot over his Condor reach is difficult.I like what Hawthorne gave us last night. He's not a star, but he wasn't expected to be. Because we only have 4 guards on the roster (I don't count Lil' Hawthorne), and one of those is OUT indefinitely (maybe for the season), Hawthorne may be an option out of necessity to play some guard, and would create some matchup problems with his length on defense, as we saw last night.
Loved Prince, but, in college, he REALLY wanted to drive to his left. USC defender exploited that dependency in the tournament…and we lost to an inferior team. Coaches are responsible for pushing players outside of their comfort zones to improve their fundamentals in all areas of- especially areas of weakness. Point being: All college players have considerable room for improvement.TP had solid handles, even as a frosh. And was very good defensively then as well. He was hard to watch at times, but those two things kept him on the floor early on that season.
We are ZERO games in, not three.Three games in and not being 40-0 with 8 draft picks is more than they can handle.

Great that yout make decisions about a player who has yet to ever play in a College game. His 1st game will be against Manhattan. Yes, he redshirting last year, came in at less than 180 lbs at 6'8". He needed a year in the weight room, now upto 195 lbs and still filling out. Give the young man a break.I’m not sold on Hawthorne, there’s a lot of people gushing over him but looking at the +|-, he’s the worse on the team and it wasn’t just this game, it’s been in all 3 exhibitions. Not sure the chemistry works when he’s out there.
It’s going to be funny watching people like you slowly disappear if our team starts doing well. However, the way people like you operate, you will change your name and act like someone else who’s happy. Real fans stick the course, realize what type of sports environment we’re in, and hope for the best.My mid season, mark pope will be getting booed at Rupp Arena on a regular basis
Pretty sure that wasn’t harsh just telling facts and if you’ve read my other post I said that he’ll get better. There’s lot of promise there but he can’t be expected to play 2 guard and not get abused by quicker players. Much prefer him at the 3 but he’s not going to get much playing time there.Great that yout make decisions about a player who has yet to ever play in a College game. I find this to be a terrifying thought. After watching Jasper be such a turnover machine when forced to dribble against pressure last year, I cringe at the very thought of Hawthorne being forced into a guard role.
I really hate that we’re only one injury away from yet ANOTHER guard shortage crisis. You’d think after that same issue plagued both of his first two seasons, Pope would’ve learned that if there’s any position that he needs to make sure he’s OVER stocked at, it’s point guard.
Let’s hope Morton recovers sooner than expected.

Same for Diallo. That kid just needs a couple shots to go in and gain confidence. I can see he isn’t ready for prime time in Rupp as of yet. But has talent and he will help us this year.Great that yout make decisions about a player who has yet to ever play in a College game. His 1st game will be against Manhattan. Memories, light the corners of my mind.We beat them by 16 and he had two 3s and 2 FTs.
1/2 of me believes you 1/2 of me thinks you smoke crackHes a better scorer than kam, better defender, rebounder, dribbler.
idk what kam does better lol
