Hayesville playing their best ball of the season with the Mctaggart kid back. While Swain has lost 3 straight and has fallen apart since they last played Hayesville. Shaping up to be the best game of any SMC 1st round matchup. Thoughts on the game???

Seriously… If I said Cherokee…I’d feel good about it!
Swain gets some much needed rest and hopefully some coaching on how not to false start. After the Murphy game, it was sloppy for Robbinsville and Cherokee. Clean up the mental game with careless penalties and we'll be fine. So many false start flags. Swain gets into 1st and 15 or longer and it's like we don't have plays to chip away those chunks of yards to make the next down manageable. First and 20, they are gonna do a hitch route to throw the deep ball instead of maybe getting 6-10yds to make 2nd down a normal down.
I would never try to predict a SMC game this year. It should be a no brainer with Swain already beating Hayesville 42-14 but then Hayesville beats Cherokee and Cherokee beats Swain 36-7 the same Cherokee that lost to Smoky Mtn 41-13 who Swain beat 21-9..I watched some of the Swain/ Murphy game which was close but watching the Swain / Robbinsville game Swain lost at the line scrimmage especially on D but I just assumed that's just Robbinsville who seemed to be hitting on all cylinders that night but then the Cherokee game was the same thing so while they probably do need to work on penalties etc whatever is going on the line needs to be addressed because they just didn't look like a defense that could have held Smoky Mtn to 9 points in ether of their last two games.
Swain playing 3 games in 7 days took a toll. If Swain will pound the ball up the middle with long drives they can win this game hands down. Defensively pressure the Qb all night !!!
The line play is the other thing thanks for reminding me. Mentioned it the other night in the scores thread. We'll never pressure a QB using 3 down linemen.
I really don’t understand the three man fronts especially in the smaller classifications where teams run so much. Bigger schools maybe, you have more to choose from and have a shot at getting more stud DL and face more passing attacks. One things for sure if you are a smaller classification school on a 3 man front you better have some stud backers that come up fast to collision close to the LOS.
Swain will be alright, finally got some time off to heal up! The only thing I am worried about is our zone pass defense! Geez, everyone in those last three games ate our lunch
Watched some of the Cherokee game last night and geez that Braves touchdown pass right before the end of the half there were several guys just running free. And Swain new it was coming. Ironic you said that because that stuck in my mind. So they are in zone, looks like the kids were confused on their assignments
For some reason we don't or won't blitz on passing downs...... How many time did their QB break off some good runs, as did MURPHY AND ROBBINSVILLE!
