After listening to Chuck Rounsaville on the podcast, I challenge Wyatt and Cross to interview Chuck and ask him to clarify two points he made.

1. Ask him to expand on the statement " Mississippi State is not a good team"

2. Ask him to expand on his comment that " Dak Prescott entering the game did not make a difference"

In order to make the show better these types of questions need to be asked instead of the usually cookie cutter questions that only give general information. Honestly, Cross has been a lot better lately and usually doesn't make excuses for Ole Miss... We shall see next week...

Rounsaville clarified statement #2. He said on twitter not that I necessarily agree. Dak made an obvious difference.

@SpiritChuck: @Bobby_Boucher1 My meaning: I thought you could have won with Williams too. He did a nice job for you guys and our D was tiring.

How was their D tiring?

Reality is we didnt have a QB capable of executing the offense for 75% of the game, and once we did OM wasn't able to stop it.

I still disagree with this. When Dak came in our receivers miraculously forgot to drop the ball. Williams was much more impressive than many are willing to admit and I don't know why. He made one major freshmen mistake with the interception. I was glad that Mullen brought Dak in at that point, but if our receivers don't have the dropsies the entire first half we wouldn't have this discussion at all.

Agree that Williams did a nice job. But it didn't take a genius to see that the whole offense picked it up a notch when Dak came into the game. Receivers caught passes they were dropping earlier. And everyone just played with more confidence.

I definitely agree. I don't think Williams has gotten nearly the credit he deserves. Was the offense good with him under center. NO but for a freshman i thought he did a hell of a job. Like you said he only had one big mistake. I think he could be good

Exactly. This isn't the first game this has happened, either. I don't know if maybe our receivers don't have confidence in Williams yet, I don't know... but there were at least 4 passes that Williams had put on the money and our receivers just flat out dropped it. Same happened in the Bama game. Make those catches, Dak probably did not need to even make an appearance. Williams was incredibly impressive and poised considering his situation and I don't know why people don't want to see that.

I do think he has not quite adjusted to the speed of the game yet and how quickly he must work through progressions and reads. In the read option game, he was quite effective. Passing, I think he's still got some development and strides to take in adjusting to the speed... but holy cow, he has everything you need in fundamental qualities he brings to the table.

Do you redshirt him next year and throw one of the 2 signees from this coming class out there to mop up in 14?

If he's still not used to the speed just yet, he doesn't have very long to go to catch up. His pocket awareness was unbelievable for a freshman. I thought he did 'ok' against Alabama but I liked what I saw considering the situation he was put in, but watching how he handled the whole game against Ole Miss really had me intrigued in his development. Seeing a third string freshman QB play the way he did will leave you hopeful for the upcoming seasons.

His pocket awareness was fantastic. I just meant the speed of working his progressions and reads. He's one of the best looking freshmen I've ever seen at QB here.

Hell no. Williams is the clear #2 for next year. We're going to need him next year.

I don't think so, with a running QB we will be lucky to keep Dak healthy all year long and may need Williams to play some next year... We had two QB this year and that wasn't enough.
