have come to some harsh conclusions. One is Saban is the reason for most of their success since 2000. Les Miles is not in Saban's league with his coaching. He has been graced with Saban's talent at the quarterback position and now he is out of Saban's quarterbacks. LSU will be competing for SEC titles but as long as Saban is at Bama winning the west will be much more difficult.

...many of them have tried to make a point continually about what a great coach Miles (and his staff) is...I've been wondering if they're trying to convince me or just looking for a little reinforcement or simply trying to convince themselves. Anyway you look at it....the party's over.

Coach34 told me that Jarrett Lee would be "just fine" because he's "just a freshman" and they should give him time.

Also Les Miles is the Stan Jones of football, according to Coach34, our other LSU fan on here.

Coach34 = LSU Genespager.

If we win out, it's definitely possible.

Think about it this way:

Florida and Bama will both go to the BCS, one in the title game, one in the Sugar Bowl.
UGA will likely be 9-3 or 10-2, and if we were to beat LSU, they would be a lock for the Capital One Bowl.
That would leave us, LSU, and South Carolina all at 8-4. The Outback would either take South Carolina or LSU. If the Outback took LSU, then the Cotton would have to choose between us and South Carolina. The Cotton likes teams from the West unless you're talking about UT or someone like that, which would give us a good shot at the Cotton over SC.

And if the Outback chose to take SC, then the Cotton would have to choose between an 8-4 LSU and an 8-4 Ole Miss. With the head to head win, we'd have a decent shot at getting that bid. We'll see how it plays out, but the Cotton is definitely still a possibility if we can beat LSU and win out. The downside is we'd likely draw Missouri or Okie State in the Cotton, and both of those schools would torch the living **** out of our secondary.

Yep, and Miles's crazy decision making has finally started to come back to haunt him some, which is making him look like less of a coach as well. Last year and in previous years, he's made a lot of decisions that would normally get a coach crucified. However, he's been lucky enough that almost all of his crazy decisions have worked for him. It was only a matter of time before those bounces quit going his way.

they were so unconventioinally ridiculous that they actually were totally unforseen...yet he has sucked that sugar tit and made a lot of money...he wasn't really wanted that much by Michigan and knew it....he played it well and may make a monkey out of ella's shoe.

Saban lost at least 3 games every year except one while he was at LSU. Saban didnt make it back to Atlanta either the year after winning the NC. Its taken Miles 4 years to have as bad of a season as Saban did 80% of his tenure...

Saban lost to Crooms- Miles hasnt

Amazing what actual facts show

Saban took over a train wreck.

1998 they were 4-7.
1999 they were 3-8.

In 2000, Saban took over that sack of **** team and went 8-4, followed by 10-3 and an SEC title. Slumped to 8-5 in 2002, then won the effing NC in 2003.

Miles inherited a shitload of talent - and has won with it, to his credit - but how in the hell can you compare the two is beyond me. Saban took the **** sandwich Gerry Dinardo left him and went 18-7 with an SEC title, had one "setback" year (where they still won 8 games), then went 13-1 and won the NC.

Moving to Alabama, Saban inherited another **** sandwich, and aGAIN, in year two, Alabama is 10-0 and ranked #1 in the nation thanks to him coaching up the players Shula left and kicking everyone's *** in recruiting. Meanwhile, it looks to most impartial observers that LSU is slipping.

"Moving to Alabama, Saban inherited another **** sandwich"

that "**** sandwich" won 16 games in the two years before the great Nick Saban got there....

You're sitting there trying to argue with me about Miles when they will probably go 9-3...and LSU's schedule has been much tougher than Bama's...Stansbury is going to get jealous about you jerking off another coach besides him

out of Saban last night, but Saban is a great coach. I knew Bama would be a lot tougher than most people thought. But they aren't the best team in the country in my opinion or the SEC for that matter.

Miles is ultimately responsible for the playing time of his players. Saturday wasn't the first time that Lee sucked.

Les Miles recruited Perilloux. Too bad RP is a dumbass. Les Miles is also about to land Russell Shepard
