The Herd is having a good debate amongst RG3 and Luck (not sure why Wilson is being left out of this discussion - he was mentioned briefly).

But... what say ye SPS? Who you got for NFL ROY?

Luck 339/627 - 54.1% - 4,374 yds - 23/18 TD/INT - 76.5 rating - 62 rushing attempts 255 yards 5 TDs
RG3 258/393 - 65.6% - 3,200 yards - 20/5 TD/INT - 102.4 rating - 120 rushing attempts 815 yards 7 TDs
RW 252/393 - 64.1% - 3,118 yards - 26/10 TD/INT - 100.0 rating - 94 rushing attempts 489 yards 4 TDs
I think I'd vote RG3 right now.

Is it possible to vote for someone other than a QB?

If so, why is Alfred Morris not on the list? 2nd in yards to MVPeterson's monstrous 2K. 2nd in TDs behind Arian Foster.

You can vote for whomever you want.... but this is a QB driven league and they get all the publicity. Luck/RG3/RW will finish 1-2-3 in the voting... whether that's fair or not is another argument.

Since Redskins won, I go RG3. If they lost last night, I would have gone Russell Wilson. ROY is not generally like MVP in that there is not that main factor of VALUE to team factored in. But with it so close I would have to take that into account. The thing here is that Seattle is the easiest team to see in the Superbowl. It would be perfect for RG3 to win the ROY and Wilson wins the Superbowl MVP.

So, this is more of a prediction thread than a vote.** A lot like when the Titans said that they were going to ask the fans what their new team name is going to be.

I predict Luck. He did more with less (RGIII has a stud back - no disrespect to Vic Ballard - a stable O-line, and a shut down defense). Colts were horrendous in 2011 (2-14). Luck shattered $cam's rookie passing record, which looked untouchable. He also broke the rookie single-game passing record. But obviously he did have a lot of interceptions, which led to a poor QBR.

These are all good arguments for Luck. I'm really torn between all 3, actually.

One thing that I will question you on, is the statement about RG3 having a good back. Did RG3 have stud back? Or did RG3 create a stud back? The zone-read stuff that RG3 is so great at allowed for Morris to be so productive (in some people's eyes).

A valid point there MI-Dawg. I think it can be argued either way. For example, Luck's ypg began to decrease from the 300+ level to under 200 ypg with the emergence of Vic Ballard during the last 4 games. On the other hand, they were saying on SNF that the OC will soon be a head-coach somewhere because of the scheme he runs (I've heard that RGIII help him refine it). I would say that since he started Game 1 and beat out the incumbents, he can handle his own. Anytime a rookie RB puts up 1600+ in a passing league, that's pretty dang stout. (Redskin)CO-MVPs, anyone????

RGIII and it won't be close. I like all 3 though. It's been a long time since the league had 3 rookie QBs this good.

And, a couple more who might make some Pro Bowls before it's all said and done.

i'm just going to throw it out there that luck threw the ball well over 200 more times than RG3 or wilson, so inherently he's going to have more INTs. he also had no INTs in the final 3 games.

i think we can all agree that wilson walked into the best team. multiple analysts picked the seahawks to make the playoffs and be a dark horse super bowl contender before the season started, so they were pretty stacked everywhere but QB, and wilson was really the only unknown. i think we can all agree RG3 walked into the 2nd best team. and i think we can all agree that luck walked into the worst team. then on top of that he loses his HC to cancer treatment after 3 weeks, and he didn't miss a beat.

i think a case can be made for all 3 guys, and all 3 will be great if they stay healthy, i just think it's worth presenting all the counter arguments.

I vote Luck. Did more with less. Cousins stepped in and didn't miss a beat. The Colts would have won 3 games with Drew Stanton at the helm.
