Take a deep breath Engie! Let me try this one more time I am in no way saying the NCAA should impose sanctions on Vandy and LSU u am saying both cases are pr nightmares. My point about institutional control in these cases was meant like these issues could easily lead to larger problems for these programs more in LSU than Vandy because the players now know they can get away with pretty much what they want to and you know that can lead to problems. As far as Vandy goes 4 more players were subpoenaed as witnesses at this point but as much of a stretch as it is if you end up with 8 players involved in any way with this rape( if these other guys knew this happened and did nothing about it they are scum too) it will end up very bad for Vandy as a team. Penn State's deal started as a crime and ended up as a lack of institutional control in the NCAA's eyes. I'm saying these two cases are morally much worse than any team cheating right now and if these type situations aren't handled correctly they can lead to the downfall of any team! I think Vandy has tried to do everything possible to handle their deal correctly but LSU and Les Miles may have opened Pandora's box! It doesn't bother me one little bit that any fan takes joy in the possibility of trouble for OM I simply meant that I wouldn't take joy in the possibility of State being in trouble and that's not me trying to take the high road or anything I just really enjoy football more when both OM and State are doing well! I can tell you I was cheering my tale of for the Bulldogs in the CWS and cheer for y'all in any sport when not playing my Rebels. It sounds to me like you may be tired of me being here and I never came here to stir the pot I won't be rude about anything as I said I know I am a guest and will act accordingly and will leave anytime you ask me too! I hope you guys have a good night and hope I explained my statements well enough this time to get my original point across and your not missing anything by not knowing anyone in our basketball program I for one will not go to another basketball game until that idiot Marshall Henderson is gone! His lack of respect for opposing teams and fans and even our fans are inexcusable and he shouldn't be allowed to come back in my opinion! Anyway like I said ask me to leave and I'm gone I kind of hate I joined while this was going in because no matter what I say some will think I am defending OM but the truth is I know things get done here like anywhere else but like anything else it will be very hard to prove anything major and I don't believe the NCAA will be able too. Could I be wrong? Absolutely but we will just have to wait and see about that. I also said I didn't believe State started this hell in the big scheme of things we are both step children to the sec anyway and none of the big boys will put up with either team being successful in any way. He'll I'm rambling now I been at the fire station for 48 hours now and I think the walls are closing in! I hope y'all have a great night and Friday!

You are a dumbass! First of all, this is almost impossible to read. Hit the enter key once or twice, and maybe limit your liberal usage of the exclamation point.

Secondly, the NCAA has zero interest in the Vandy and LSU cases. If those players get in big trouble, no other player will feel like they can get away with anything. The Penn State deal is different. They were popped by the NCAA because the institution orchestrated a cover up of a coach's illegal and morally reprehensible behavior. If Vanderbilt covered up the crimes of the four players to protect them, then the NCAA would have ground to act. Right now, it's just a legal matter, something the NCAA does not want to get involved in.

You claim to know the inner workings of the NCAA but your post verifies that you don't know ****.

Oh, and somebody needs to get you a quick tutorial on how to reply.

Dang Drebin why I got to be a dumb ***? I hope you have a nice day today and its hard to come to a opposing teams site and make buddies I understand that but you aren't seeing my point here. I said the Penn State thing was different in my post and fully understand these are not enforceable situations by the NCAA I am saying its a slippery road when things like this happen at schools. The thing about LSU is Miles let his team vote to keep Hill and if the young men there think their fate is in the hands of their teammates instead of an authority figure it's like letting the inmates run the jail. I know there are some young men here in Oxford that would be nothing but trouble if they thought their teammates were the only ones they had to answer to. I came here because after reading your site for a while I really have more in common ( besides teams) than I do with most OM fans and enjoy talking to most of y'all. I'm not a big Proper grammar guy so I apologize about that but I'm just a firefighter in Memphis so there's not much call for that here;)

concussion, no practice on Friday so he may have gone home for a day or 2

story? Did he just get pissed and leave for a while or take a break from getting his bell rung?

maybe even to see his old squeeze or pickup some stuff from home? It's common for freshmen to go home when they get a chance, with season coming up he may not get a chance to go back home for a few months.

Paul didn't leak the names to CBS you moron.... He spoke what had been leaked...

I've heard rumor that if there are other names Paul Jones has leaked to CBS, two will be Nutt recruits.

To him by his sources. The delusion and spin cycle has you so mixed up you don't even know which way is up right now.

The inconsistencies are just baffling.

MSU has been perfectly happy with a live and let live policy under Mullen.

Total ********. No one denies that you tried to get Auburn in trouble for Cam Newton. No one. In fact, Slive made it cleat that MSU had violated SEC rules by bypassing the SEC when you made the complaint.

Now, just for a second, let's examine how even the contrived narrative doesn't make sense.

Meanwhile, you stole a bunch of national recruits from Alabama, Georgia, Florida St, Michigan, et al with no ties to our school last year. And you thought there wouldn't be repercussions? That's as rampant as it gets..

Story 1: OM was ok until they decided to mess with the "big boys" who are making sure OM knows their place. OM pissed off the old Georgia AD or president or whatever who is now with the NCAA and is going to make sure OM pays for this. In fact, MSU isn't even behind all of this NCAA **** with OM. OM keeps blaming MSU, but MSU doesn't have anything to do with this investigation.

So, after doing all this, and beating you for a kid that you were never in the game on(Redmond), you tried to fry us over a total of $2600 worth of benefits and actually succeeded in probation. Do you not see our problem here? Do you not see how our retaliation is guaranteed and forced at that point?

Story 2: OM got greedy with one of MSU's recruits and turned MSU in on the Will Redmond deal. After that, all bets were off. MSU had no choice but to turn OM in on this because OM had done the same to them.

So, which is it? MSU turned us in? Georgia is demanding an investigation? You don't know what the **** you're talking about?

A program like OM (or MSU and dozens of other programs) would have little to no effect on the stability of the NCAA football economy if they were punished harshly for a few years. It gives them the opportunity to give the appearance that the NCAA actually enforces the rules they come up with without rocking the boat by pissing off a program that actually matters financially.

Fair point.

The point he was trying to make was this is not just an MSU thing. Did MSU turn in UM? Sure they did, but for UM fans to place all the blame on MSU for the NCAA asking questions (as many are doing) is just stupid. Several other schools are doing the same thing as State.

So yes, it's a combination of both "stories." State turned in UM, but they weren't the only ones.

"The NCAA doesn't care about rape." -Penn State Fans circa 2011

First of all, I have no idea what the NCAA will do about the Vanderbilt situation nor do I care, but that is totally different from what happened at Penn State.

Penn State was a huge cover-up job from Paterno, to the AD, all the way up to the president of the university. They all knew that a boy had been raped on their campus, but did not report it to the police for 10 years. The NCAA stepped in because that clearly displays a lack of institutional control.

On the other hand, everyone knows what happened at Vanderbilt: the players have been arrested and kicked off the team. Had the Penn State administration treated their rape case the same way as Vandy, I doubt there would have been NCAA sanctions. Instead, the entire Penn State leadership decided to hide a child rape crime that happened in one of their football showers. That is completely different from the way Vandy has handled their issue. If anything, this shows that Vandy does have control of their program.

You can't just say "They're both rape case, so they must be the same thing." That is just totally ignorant and stupid.

You really think Mullen is too dumb to have learned from that?

The message from the SEC and really from the NCAA was that they didn't want to hear about it from MSU.

Yes, some people are claiming that MSU has turned UM in, but unless you have a good source to the contrary, I seriously doubt that's true. It's a virtual certainty that the NCAA isn't snooping around because of allegations made by MSU. Maybe MSU reported on them, but if they did, it's still only getting traction because of other schools. While I expect we have not been withholding any information the NCAA asks for, I doubt we bothered to make any formal allegations at all, unless there was something so blatant and public that they were not reporting it would look bad (which I think is part of what happened with Cam. I think Mullen actually thought the NCAA would enforce the rules there, but even if he hadn't, if you've got a player's dad indiscriminately calling boosters and leaving incriminating voice mails, it's pretty damn risky to just keep your mouth shut about it.

I'll deny the hell out of it. We told on Cam's solicitations from MSU. WE didn't do jack **** to Auburn besides put a burden of proof on them.

Now, just for a second, let's examine how even the contrived narrative doesn't make sense.

What, exactly, makes you think it isn't "All the above" hence why we are SO confident that you are about to burn? Yancy "inside" info that we've constantly scooped on SPS over the past months?

You are going to fry. You've got several power brokers in the SEC invested in seeing it through -- and MSU damn sure isn't impeding the progress. You REALLY think that we just got around to turning you in for CJ Johnson? Really? Right now? Someone with alot more power than poor ole MSU got the NCAA to FINALLY come looking -- we're just pointing them to the bodies.
