In the interest of TRANSPARENCY. , I am departing NEW. JERSEY. this morning for a business trip to MICHIGAN. . Besides MICHIGAN. just being MICHIGAN. , the weather will suck balls there too, just not quite as hard. High temperatures in Detroit:

Today: 96
Tuesday: 91
Wednesday: 80 (storms)
Thursday: 83

Of course, stepping out the front door this morning to go to the airport, the heat smacked me in the face.

No but it didn't stop us from going out to play. We mostly played baseball and rode bikes. We didn't have A/C so why stay in the house? We stayed hydrated by drinking out of a garden hose. It's amazing we survived.

I believe they use 2010 because that’s when the airport was updated at BWI. I remember one of the weatherman on the local news saying that the national weather records recording devices now were much closer to asphalt than they were before.

Lucky you. My barns are turning horses out today because the barns are going to be too hot for horses with the humidity. They are actually closed down.

I have a client who moved here to NC a couple of years ago from Wind River area in Wyoming. I'm like, wth were you thinking?

My A/C picked a bad week to break down

I had two choices: 1) Spend $600 to repair a 30 year old unit which can be done tomorrow. 2) spend $5000 on a new unit that could be installed next Wednesday. I went for the quick fix. Maybe that was a mistake.

A house in our neighborhood had their shed catch fire last night — apparently there was ammunition stored in the shed and it exploded! Not sure if the fire came first and caused the explosion, or if the crazy heat of the day actually caused the ammo to ignite. Yikes.

Thankfully, it seems no one was hurt. A ton of fire trucks and police responded and did a great job getting it all under control. It could have been much worse.
