Have been in mid-coast Maine the past week and the weather has been mostly wonderful. Two amazing days of sun in the low 80s; sailed Penobscot Bay in the morning and hit the pool after. Today was a lot cooler - I wasn’t prepared for the fog in Maine but have gotten used to it. We drove to Acadia and hiked the Jordan Pond trail but sadly the pond was covered in dense fog; so visibility was not good but we still enjoyed it. Food has been amazing (we drove to Freedom, ME and had lunch at The Lost Kitchen, which is arguably the most difficult dinner reservation in America as it’s all lottery and only for a few months a year; I had the fried chicken and honey butter biscuits and it was the best fried chicken I’ve ever had - they just started offering limited lunch options so it’s an easy way to eat there without worrying about the luck of the lottery).
Only downside is restaurants close around 8, so have to plan around that. We love it here and question why anyone would drive south when they could be here instead…(with apologies to
@razpsu ) though we will be in NMB later this summer.
