I don't know I think the media and social media these days is over sensationalizing the heat(and pretty much everything else). I went out and cut my grass with a push mower at 5:00 yesterday when temp was 95 and I didn't die. I broke a good sweat and got a good workout but I am still alive. 
Worked summers for Mills Brothers moving in Avon Lake while teaching.

IIRC, 27 days over 90 and 13 days over 100. Great weight loss program. Drank a lot of water and brought extra t-shirts and made it through the days.

Finally back in NEW. JERSEY. after a four-hour flight delay. For f*ck’s sake. On the bright side, it’s not hot as balls tonight. It will get warmer over the next few days, but nothing like the early part of this week.

I am lucky, although it’s going to be in the low-to-mid 70s here early next week. Mid 70s! That’s a legit heatwave!

Y'all northerners complaining about heat. I live in freakin' Bangladesh, otherwise known as Chapel Hill, NC. Flooding, every day heat indexes over 100 due to persistent high humidity, 4pm rain bursts every day, mosquitos in my f'in house, hot af at 7am. I'm tired of it. Thank god we head to RI, NH and Maine the next couple of weeks.
We were SO close to buying our retirement home on Lake Norman. FFS that would suck
It's been hot there too. Providence actually hit 100 a couple of weeks ago. It might be cooler near the water.
I worked outside all my life. l am retired now. my son works as a fence installer. if you think this feels better you must work inside in AC. THIS DOES NOT FEEL BETTER!! the humidity is the killer.
