If Ole Miss loses 2 of 3 and we win 2 of 3 or Ole Miss wins 2 of 3 and we sweep, we will both finish with the same conference record. However, since they won the SEC series against us, they would win the tiebreaker for seeding in the tournament. If they lose tonight and tomorrow and we win tomorrow, we finish 19-11 and they finish 18-12 and we win the West outright. However, they are leading Texas A&M 3-2 going into the 9th inning tonight.
Ole Miss beats Texas A&M 4-2. They still have a one game lead over us with one game left to play. If they lose tomorrow and we win, we will tie for first in the West with 19-11 SEC records. However, they own the tiebreaker over us thanks to the series win on SBW.
Yeah. I think we all underestimated the impact if losing that many players to pro ball. Really, if we'd won a couple of about 5 bad non-conference losses, this would be an outstanding regular season. It's still a good one & we seem to be peaking at the right time.
So
if we win and they lose, and we finish w the same record, can we hang a banner as SEC West champs?*******
