If this report is true, Fedora did the smart thing. UNC has the opportunity for more sustainable success because of the conference they play in. OM is in serious rebuild mode, and it would have been tough to win immediately there, which I think he is looking for. Good move for Fedora. I think he can compete in ACC consistently and be a Top 3 ACC team. </p>

UNC has been given reason to believe that Fedora will sign the contract, but the proceedings are not finalized as of yet.

Yep word is that the announcement will come shortly. Evidently there was one major hold up that had to be settled. Fedora insisted that part of his contract would include a stipulation that UNC would never schedule UAB.

Classy guy, huh! Ellis Johnson new coach is my hope. Great coach and well respected.
yep and because Mr Gianinni accepted fedoras choice instead of saying "um NO we arent going to hawaii, because i want whats best for USM" he basically gave fedora the go ahead. He should be FIRED and FIRED NOW. This is inexcusable. Hate mail to the president and to the circle of champions incoming.....

Believe me, Giannini is a dead man walking. Will be gone soon.

Giannini made that decision, and subsequently threw Fedora under the bus to deal with the blowback. Fedora was on his way to UNC to interview on Sunday when the decision was made, so he didn't give a 17. Giannini will be announcing his "retirement" shortly, and nobody will be crying. He's the USM version of Lonny Tinkle.
