Article is almost 4 years old. My guess is the results would tend to sway more in favor of women during that time. I would also tend to believe that men are more likely to negotiate more strongly for salary or at least in my experience as a hiring manager.
I worked for a global consultancy. We absolutely paid female consultants the same as we paid male consultants (based on education, experience and need) even though out turnover of females was much higher. We traveled extensively which seemed to affect women more than men.
