......on how the SEC is as a whole next season. This year the league was way down overall. If everyone gets a lot better next year, it won't be as clear cut a trip to the top of the SEC West for OM as some may think.

Echoing Bruiser's thoughts, it's got to encourage their fans to see so many of the 2-deep returning. Still, sometimes just the loss of an individual or two can make a much bigger impact than fans want to believe. Oher and Jerry are prime examples, just as losing Mike Brown made a significant impact on our o-line's ability to block last season.

As for Herbie's pre-season rankings, he's just one person. I doubt most voters will see OM as a top 5 team. I mean, that's basically saying they're national champ contenders, which is way beyond realism at this point. I know they beat Florida last season, but great teams have bad days sometimes and good teams sometimes play at a championship level.. And if you have to take into account that OM beat Florida, then it's just as fair to point out that Vandy beat OM, as well as three other teams. Does that mean that Vandy should be a contender for the East title next year? What about MSU in the West, since we beat Vandy? Point is, I just don't(and never have) bought into the hype for the next season based on the one that just occurred. UGA is one team that learned that the hard way this last season, just as many before them and the many to come.
