..they all said two months ago that Texas was a number 1 seed due to the talent and athleticism of the longhorns. Where are they now? The sportnics breakdown so much of the talent and the ability it makes me laugh. If it were up to them we can erase a Duke national championship and give it to UNLV, because let's be real 9 times out of 10 Grand Mama and crew would have won that title. ***** all you want about the BSC but the selection comittee in basketball is just as big a joke. If the SEC is much better than last year and MSU's conference record is better than last year why wouldn't they be in the tournament?

Not sure I follow all the logic of your post, but that's why they play the games.

Texas looked like a No. 1 seed early. They aren't today because they started losing games. Funny how that works.

The SEC is better than last year, not much, but it's better. You were not an NCAA tourney team last year without the automatic bid, so you really can't compare your record last year to this year.

And yes, the basketball process is 10 times better than the football process. When your snubs are the 46th, 47th, and 48th best teams in the country, those teams aren't going to challenge for the title anyway. When your snubs are the 3rd, 4th, and 5th best teams, like in football, then those teams definitely could have had a chance at the title.

When you get down to it, if you're a bubble team and you get snubbed, basically all you are missing out on is the opportunity to hang a banner and maybe if you're really lucky make a Sweet Sixteen or Elite 8 run to get your program a little bit more exposure. You're really not getting snubbed out of a national title shot.

..but when you get into conference play and you stop playing the rest of the country how can you judge how good a team is? That is my point, Arkansas dominated its non-conference season last year but because they lost badly in conference play they were tossed aside, yet, this year despite a miserable start their conference play had people talking, granted it would have to be a 12-4 or 13-3 season to happen. I just don't see how selection can be objective when you are only playing within your conference. It the amount of teams that the conference will get in is decided by mid January.
